  2. I bought some surplus powder today for $80 including shipping and hazmat charges.the $80 savings went toward the $129 chrony beta master chronograph.I will feel much better shooting this unit, compared to a $250 oehler, lol.I would have probably still bought the oehler, but since they were closed and midway was still open, shooting chrony it is.I'm very good with computers,so I'm hoping to be able to operate the controls with minimum headaches.anyone use these units indoors and have any lighting tips? thanks for the replies guys.

  3. gibrass was the supplier I was thinking of.my 50 ae loads require 29.5-32.5 of h110,so I will need to start somewhere under 29 grains.but I cant really reduce the loads much below 29 grains,(not recommended for h110)but I have heard of people loading way over 32.5 grains in a desert eagle.which is rediculous in my book.I shoot at least 300 rounds per week,I just want to lower my costs and shoot more.thanks for the reply.

  4. I would boycott glock.the brass works in other firearms perfectly, why should starline spend more money making heavier brass because one manufacturer is too cheap to engineer their pistols correctly?starline is one of the few makers of 50 ae brass, and I have had great results with all 500 rounds I have hand loaded so far.

  5. I couldnt find any walnut shells, had to buy some at the gun shop.the corn worked better for me,plus it was much cheaper.maybe I'll try some of the brass polish next time.got my grips and scope mounted today, going shooting in the morning to sight it in,needed some good looking rounds to match :)

  6. tried some corn cob bedding today as media for my tumbler which arrived today.i paid 40 cents per pound,a huge bag was like $3.00,and it did a fantastic job shining up my brass.should be available at feed stores or in my case, pet supplies plus.

  7. I dont like lead bullets, too much cleaning required. I have been using hodgdon 4227 for my 50 ae loads.it doesnt seem to be a very popular powder, most use ww296 0r h110.I like it alot, very consistant loads.much smoother recoil than some ww 296 loads my buddy shoots.it was originally a rifle powder. If your looking for something new try some hodgdon 4227.

  8. I just returned from the shooting range.after firing the first round of speer gold dots I put the de down and stood there shaking for a good 5 minutes.the recoil was much more than I experienced with my buddies 40 de.my rounds using starline brass, cci 350 primers,30 grains of hodgdon 4227 powder, and speer 325 grain bullets worked flawlessly.they chambered perfectly, extracted perfectly, had much less recoil, and were more accurate than the speer gold dots.

3 rounds of the gold dots did not fit correctly in my magazine and would not chamber, can I get these replaced?nothing gets attention like a de.everyone looking through the glass into the range, and thinking what kind of nut is this lol.awesome firepower for a handgun.hats off to magnum research on a fine piece of work !how much brass do you have and what are you asking for it ?happy thanksgiving !
