  1. There good bullets. As someone else mentioned, there not quite as consistent in weight as some of the other manufacture's. For example; their 230gn bullet may vary anywhere from 228gn to 232gn. Not a biggie though if you load a little on the higher side of PF.

  2. I had a KKM (drop-in) in my G34. The only reason I had it was to be able to shoot lead.

The only improvement over the stock barrel (to me) was the conventional rifling, more chamber support and a slightly tighter chamber.

As for as accuracy, to be honest the factory barrel was slightly more accurate than my KKM. I'm sure a fitted barrel would be different.

On a side note: I just purchased a LWD barrel for my G21 and so far it has every advantage as the KKM but at a cheaper price. :)

  3. I did a search and went through 3 or 4 pages but didn't find anything really related.

Anywho, With jacketed prices up I am wanting to try some moly coated bullets through my Glock. I shoot moly coated exclusively in the 1911's but have been leery of it with the Glock. We've all heard the stories of Glock and lead but what say you true 1000rnd per month Glocksters? Is this safe with the factory barrel or should I just stick with the jacketed bullets?

Not trying to start a war and I sure don't want to hear any KB stories. I want to know for a fact if this is safe or not before I try it because my wife is the one who normally shoots it.

    Thanks

  4. Yea, moving was sorta in the plans anyway as we have about outgrown the house now that we have two daughters.

I haven't seen him nor his kids back over here after I ran them off (in a not so polite way) the first time. They still have their pool parties but have been shutting down around 10pm. Right now the dogs have become more of a nuisance than they are. What I have been doing is when they bark at night, I go out right next to their property line as close as I can get to their house while remaining on my property and bust off a 3" Magnum 00 buckshot into a creek bank. That usually shuts them up for the night anyway :)

  5. You're right Unclez. I didn't realize that they were flat point but these are the bullets I'm planning on buying. Do you load yours with less than 4 grains of Clays? I'm looking to make PF for Lim 10 and Single stack.

    The Precisions are great bullets.

I'm not sure what I was thinking when I said you could back that load down above. 4.0 should be a good starting point to get PF although I have heard some have to bump to 4.1 or 4.2 (at your own risk). I don't use Clays for making PF. I usually just use Titegroup.

Editing my post above for correction.

  6. Should work fine.

I usually load the Precision flat nose at 1.225 rather than 1.250 as you stated. You may have some feeding issues at that length with the flat nose.

Also if your loading to meet PF you could back that load way down. :)

Thanks. I'm trying to meet power factor with a lighter load. Is there much of a difference between round nose and flat nose?

If I'm not mistaken, Precision doesn't make a .45 RN.

The only issue I can think of would be feeding which none of the firearms I have used the FN in has had any issues with them. The Precisions are actually a round nose with a flat point which should allow them to feed similar to that of a standard RN.

    Hope that helps. :)

  7. Should work fine.

  8. All *Federal* stamped brass works fine for me in all calibers. The *FC* stamped in .40 however has been known to be weak brass. Weak brass in a high pressure .40 does not mix well.

Can't speak for the 10mm mentioned above as I have not seen any ill effects with those but on the other hand I don't know many people who shoot the 10mm.

  9. I just tried to place an order with Precision and they are out as well. 8-10 weeks behind. Said "sorry we couldn't fill in a timely manner, with lead prices going up daily, the shooters are panicking and sales are up 400%"

    g10

I just ordered 2250 .45 200gn Precisions and got the normal auto response email after paying. I didn't get a "sorry we couldn't fill in a timely manner" notice. Did Dave send you that or could you not even place the order?

ETA: The price had gone up about $20. bucks though. Guess thats the .30 per pound he is adding on.
