  1. To have a rotation, we can't have the President making sweetheart multi-year deals with one range...unless it is a 3 year deal with 3 ranges so we can do Jim's plan.

We can only hope that Mike V. is reading this board and therefore knows the desires/opinions of the common shooter.  We know most of the BoD hangs here (Thanks guys!).

If I recall correctly, the PASA contract calls for only one nationals per year to be held in Barry. Even though the pistol nationals were one match last year, the 3 Gun nationals were held in a different location. I guess the two years the handgun nationals were held in Bend must have been another of those multi-year sweetheart deals, eh? PASA received no more remuneration than any other location where nationals have been held.

  2. The minutes have been sent to the BOD for review. I will remind the BOD we have to get the approval finalized for publication.

Hhhhmmm, that is odd, Rob. I asked my Area Director about the minutes and he replied that he had already voted on the minutes.

  3. Put a limit on numbers of slots offered per Nationals so they will be used say 250 for Open 250 for Limited, 100 for the other 3 divisions, First come first served as far as slots go, if all Open are issued then you apply for Limited, if they are all gone then L-10 ect. and so forth and so on.

If Limited and Open fillup, L-10 gets 75 Production gets 75 and Rev gets 50 then you would have a grand total of almost 700 people shooting the Nationals (How many last year?)

It would be nice if it was that easy! :D

Unfortunately, if you have 700 shooters, competing over five days, that means 140 shooters per day. I don't believe there is enough time to run 140 shooters per day. Plus, that would not allow one division per day. Limited and Open would need two days each which would mean only one day for Lim10, Rev and Prod. Surely there would be more than 120 shooters who would want to shoot Lim10/Rev/Prod.

I guess there is never an easy answer. :)

  4. Hoser, How about earning them through the points series as some are talking about, and then having whats left go out to the sections as they are now.

That would increase points series participation and the club that bud for and won that Nationals would know what kind of numbers to anticipate for.(and USPSA)

    Just and Idea....

    HOP

That would be one idea, but then why would clubs pay mission count which enables them to get slots to Nationals? Without the mission count money, USPSA would go broke.

  5. spd522, your interpretation is correct.  I was thinking maybe a $300 fee, and choose which divisions you want to shoot or $250 for the first, and $25 each additional division.

The staff wouldn't have any more work than 2004 shooting 5 days, or 2003 shooting back-to-back Nationals, or 2005 shooting 3 then 2.  The actual participation in the lesser visited venues would increase, and the pros could still shoot them all.  I would shoot all 5, unlike this year where I will probably shoot only Limited.

The only drawbacks I see are scheduling/squadding will be a little more cumbersome, and the guys who only shoot one division will complain about less stages.

The advantages are:  less mobilization and cost, more revenue and profit, a true opportunity to measure growth of the divisions as they are now, one travel for the all week shooters, and less lodging for the 1-2 category guys.  You can shoot anywhere from 8-40 stages!

One other disadvantage is the number of shooters per day. It is only physically possible to run about 120 shooters in a day. So, if you have one division per day, that means that only 120 shooters will be competing in each division. Slots to the nationals would be in very high demand.

  6. Another idea: Wouldn't it be easier to use a designator, ie., BE, for stat purposes at the Nat's? The uspsa stats shop could query the data specific to this designator and provide a printed or electronic run down of who's who.

    Hey Sterling,

    A couple of things.....

    1. How would stats know who the BE people were?

    2. Is there a place to even enter this info in EZWinScore?

    3. You tell stats they have to do this extra little chore! :P:rolleyes:

  7. All IPSC shooters are welcome to participate.

Simple stages easy to set up at almost any range.

    Open, Limited, Production and Revolver(std.).

    Invitation found here: September 2004

    Mail results here: resultat@vansin.net

    DVC,

    Whizz

One question, Whizz. As for the start procedure, in the IPSC rule book under 8.1.1, I see nothing about Condition 1 (one of Vince's pet peeves) for the handgun. What would that be?

  8. East Bumf***, MO, what are you talking about? Linn Creek is a burgeoning city of 280 people!!! And, I think they must have hidden the town diner, when Denise and I went downtown the other day we could not find the diner. Actually, we had trouble finding downtown.

You mean the new phone we bought without a hand crank won't work in Linn Creek?

    Ruh Roh Rorge!!!!

  9. 165.3 was the closest I have ever come at Area 3 this year. The really weird thing is that ammo with 0.2 LESS grains of powder chrono'd at 178 at the WI sectional a few weeks later. This was the first time I had ever run into a chrono at a state sectional, and I thought I was screwed for sure. I just don't get why I have had such a huge spread in PF's this year with my .45 ammo, under very simular weather conditions.

    TriggerT,

Greg Lent was the chrono guy at A3. I can't think of anyone who has more experience at setting up and running a chrono than Greg. Maybe your "high" results over other chronos were because of poor chrono conditions? :D

  10. So, I call Southern Bell a couple of weeks in advance to get the phone line hooked up in the new house in Linn Creek, MO. No problem, they say and set Friday, September 3 from noon to five pm. Great, Denise (dminor) will be staying at the new house in Linn Creek and even though we get there on Wednesday evening that will be only a couple of days before we can access the internet again.

So....... 4:45 pm on Friday - no phone installer. I call the phone company and they check. "Still slated for this evening, sir, we work until dark". Okay, it is dark - no phone installer. Call the phone company - customer "service" is closed for the day. It is Labor Day weekend now - this doesn't look good.

Saturday morning call the phone company at 8:00am - not open. At least a message says they open on Saturday at 9:00am. Call back at 9:00am - customer "service" guy tells me the installer had problems and he has to get a part for the "neighborhood service box". It will take at least a week before they can install the phone now. Everyone else in the neighborhood has a phone that works - the people who owned the house before us had a phone that worked. What is up with this?

So, there sits Denise with no internet access. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! :(:angry:

  11. Great picture! If you notice, the picture shows PASA having clear sunny skies despite Frances. I hope Ivan stays to the East. As reneet said, the forecast right now is fantastic. :D

  12. Hi Everyone,

Denise has asked me to post this for her - she is now in Linn Creek, MO at the new house, but unfortunately the Southern Bell phone installer decided not to show up on Friday to install the phone line. After checking with Southern Bell they now inform us that the phone cannot be installed until next Friday!:wacko:

Anyway, an anonymous donor from the Enos Forums has made a very generous offer to have the get together catered with snacks and beer!! :D

So, let me know if you can make (the caterer sure would like a head count) and bring your forum badge and let's meet.

  13. Arnie/Troy,

Do the posted IPSC rule interpretations apply to USPSA, or does USPSA have to post our own interpretations (even if they say the same thing as the IPSC interpretations)?

    Big Huggy,

The posted interpretations to which you are referring in this post, apply only to IPSC.

John Amidon makes interpretations for USPSA and the BOD either approves or overrides his decision. His interpretations will be posted on the USPSA member's page.

  14. We went under the bridge at Barry too, but it wasn't a rental.  Quite an adventure though nonetheless.

Aw, come on now, guys! An adventure? Hell, before it rained, I made the detour under the bridge in my Corvette, with no problems.

  15. Will the new rule book be placed on the USPSA web-page as a .PDF without the watermark on it... I'd like a copy that I can download to my PALM, it makes it easier to search for rules down at the range with the search function.

    Thanks

    BritinUSA,

I am sure the new rules will be posted, but I am not sure in what software format. That would be best answered by Rob Boudrie, USPSA webmaster extrodinaire, or by Dave Thomas.
