  1. I took the ferry from WI to MI after this year's WI State Match. While we were waiting in line we had a security guard with a black lab come by and ask is we had any weapons or explosives in the vehicle. I said no even though I had 3 guns and ammo in the back. I didn't want to get denied access since we had already paid for the trip and their web site said nothing about weapons. Definitely didn't want to drive through Chicago to get to MI for the rest of our vacation either.

  2. This really was a great match. I've been to two of them when they were at La Crosse, WI and this was the first one I attended at Muskego. I used to like to go only to 2 day matches but this half day match was nice. I wasn't completely dead at the end of the day. :D Lucky I got a slot in the afternoon group because I had a flat tire when I left the motel in the morning. :P

  3. I have two because if I drive 500 miles to a sanctioned match in another state I don't want to leave anything to chance. I also have a parts box of most all Glock parts that I will ever need in case of a breakage.

  4. I haven't tried it in a match but I got some .45 AR brass and some HKS speedloaders and shoot my 625 with them just for fun. I load the 225 gr Meister TC bullets long to help get the bullets in the charge holes from the speedloaders.

Don't know if anyone would care at a sanctioned match but the 625 is 1 oz. heavier than the rules allow for SSR. (43 oz vs. 42 oz. in the rule book)

  5. Don't feel bad. So far I've only seen one match within 8 hrs of home here in eastern Nebr. (Havana, IL) I won't be able to make it to the WI State Match this year and don't know if Columbia, MO will be having any matches this year.

So far it looks like 75% of the matches that are posted are in what's considered to be the Southeast U.S. :o

  6. I've been usig 7625 in .40 S&W after doing a survey of my local shooting buddies who shoot IPSC and IDPA.  I've found it to be very accurate and soft shooting.  I believe Powder Valley has it in stock again and I noticed yesterday the big gun store in Omaha, NE now has 5# cans of it in stock once again.
