  1. Just FWIW I've shot a few sanctioned matches in other states where it was assumed that not everyone had a CCW permit so the concealment issue wasn't required even though the range was on private property.
  2. I took the ferry from WI to MI after this year's WI State Match. While we were waiting in line we had a security guard with a black lab come by and ask is we had any weapons or explosives in the vehicle. I said no even though I had 3 guns and ammo in the back. I didn't want to get denied access since we had already paid for the trip and their web site said nothing about weapons. Definitely didn't want to drive through Chicago to get to MI for the rest of our vacation either.
  3. I use an oversized short sleeve dress shirt but I like the Hawaiian shirt idea. I do have a digital camo vest that I bought on close out at LA Police Gear but have never used it for IDPA yet.
  4. This really was a great match. I've been to two of them when they were at La Crosse, WI and this was the first one I attended at Muskego. I used to like to go only to 2 day matches but this half day match was nice. I wasn't completely dead at the end of the day. Lucky I got a slot in the afternoon group because I had a flat tire when I left the motel in the morning.
  5. I have two because if I drive 500 miles to a sanctioned match in another state I don't want to leave anything to chance. I also have a parts box of most all Glock parts that I will ever need in case of a breakage.
  6. That must be the reason I keep getting them at the matches I go to.
  7. I have the feeling somebody's going to go postal here pretty soon.
  8. If its 16 and no wind I put thin stretch 'one size fits all' gloves on and go at it. Of course I reload my magazines in the nice warm truck.
  9. I think you'd have better luck finding a gun shop in NYC.
  10. I shot a 19 at sanctioned matches a couple of years ago and liked how the 19's grip fit me compared to fullsize Glocks. The next year I took a 17 and had the grip chopped to 19 length. Had my best year in IDPA with that setup.
  11. Thanks, I give that a try tomorrow. Let us know how you come out in case we need some for ourselves in the future.
  12. I detail strip my Glocks once a year. I shoot about 10,000 rds a year but then I own 14 Glocks so each one never really gets that dirty deep down inside.
  13. Its my understanding that Glockmeister got in trouble with ATF for selling illegally imported guns and receivers so no more slides, receivers or guns for sale there.
  14. I've always been told just to shove it back in and don't worry about it unless its damaged. I haven't heard of any way to secure one in the channel.
  15. I haven't tried it in a match but I got some .45 AR brass and some HKS speedloaders and shoot my 625 with them just for fun. I load the 225 gr Meister TC bullets long to help get the bullets in the charge holes from the speedloaders. Don't know if anyone would care at a sanctioned match but the 625 is 1 oz. heavier than the rules allow for SSR. (43 oz vs. 42 oz. in the rule book)
  16. Don't feel bad. So far I've only seen one match within 8 hrs of home here in eastern Nebr. (Havana, IL) I won't be able to make it to the WI State Match this year and don't know if Columbia, MO will be having any matches this year. So far it looks like 75% of the matches that are posted are in what's considered to be the Southeast U.S.
  17. Mike, I own both the 26 and 27. I think either one would serve you equally as well as the other. Personally I'm a fan of the .40 cartridge. I prefer a tritium front sight with a Novak plain black rear sight.
  18. Use cool water when you wash as hot water tends to open up the pores in your skin allowing lead to get into your system.
  19. I've been usig 7625 in .40 S&W after doing a survey of my local shooting buddies who shoot IPSC and IDPA. I've found it to be very accurate and soft shooting. I believe Powder Valley has it in stock again and I noticed yesterday the big gun store in Omaha, NE now has 5# cans of it in stock once again.
  20. BD, I would be perfectly comfortable with Titegroup and 165 gr bullets in .40 S&W. Normally I'm a little leery of faster powders such as Titegroup and heavy bullets like 180 grs in .40 cal.
