  1. I'm new to this sport so take what I tell you as such. I have an uncle mikes kydex holster. I'm small so I've got a pair of youth shooting glasses (Wal-Mart) with the yellow tint. I got fobus mag pouches. I don't remember if we got them from Mid-Way where we get a lot of our stuff, or cheaper than dirt. That is what is working for me. I hope this has been some help.

  2. Thank you everyone. I love to shoot, I really didn't think I was ready for competition, however I really wanted to be part of all of that. We went to C-vile talked to some really great people, told them what guns we had and was so excited couldn't wait for the next month to come a long. We came home ordered our rigs from Mid-Way, we practiced with the knowledge we had, went to the USPSA web site became members, them came match week we were so excited them I was told I'd have to work that Sat, :( the only Sat. we worked all year. I got off just in time to watch my husband shoot the beginning of his first match. I started shooting in July and I love it. I don't shoot in the cold, I know I'm a fair weather shooter.

  3. yesterday me and my family went to a gun show in Ohio. We got to the door, there was a sign that said no loaded firearms, regardless of permits, license, all firearms must be unloaded and tagged. WHAT????????? How do we get other business owners to respect CCW holders when we can't even get the gun shows to respect us as law abiding citizens. Is this a good message to be sending?

  4. Awesome job Sterling. This match was one heck of a good time & anyone in the D.C. area with a pistol, shotgun & assault rifle owes it to themselves to check out the shoots that Sterling & Jason are running in Waldorf (about 45 min or so from the beltway). For full results & more pictures (including a picture of the tall skinny dude w/ the freaky looking snarl in the last photo) follow this link to the post on shootersparadise.com (the rest of the stages are there too):

    Regards,

    Douglas

Gee I wish I still lived in Quantico, VA I come and see this for myself. Then I'd come and shoot it. It looks like a lot of fun and I'm here in Southern Ohio, can't find a 3 gun shoot.

  5. I'm very happy with my M&P 9mm I took it out and put 67 rounds through it on Christmas Eve. I could not believe it, right out of the box it was dead on, I haven't rapid fired it yet but I'm sure it will do just fine. I'm never going to be one of the top shooters anyway, I just love to play the game. I shoot with some really great people who I've found to be very helpful.

  6. Well I had to make a fast choice, I got a very good deal on the M&P, I like the way it felt and knowing it came with a smaller palm swell, it is made here in the USA which I like, I got the M&P. I loved the way it felt in my hand, I like the sights, the true test will be when I take it out and shoot it. I still have my steyr which I have been shooting for almost a year. I plan on selling it if my M&P lives up to my expectations. Wish me luck.

  7. My husband is buying me a new gun, we shoot USPSA I have a choice between a S&W M&P or the bio- tone XD9. Which one should I choose. The guy at the gun shop as a good point about Smith and Wesson being made here in the USA. Alot of cops are going to the M&P. What is a girl to do.

    Please Help me decide. ;)

  8. Me and my husband love to shoot and we have for years but we were looking for a shooting sport. The first match we went to we just watched, talked to some really nice and friendly people. Those top shooters love the sport, they love to see new people joining the sport. After that we were hooked, we have only shot 4-5 matches. At first I thought I'm not ready to shoot with these guys, what I found I couldn't believe. They were giving me pointers with my stance, and my grip. They encourage me and my husband and we are not exactly spring chickens my husband is 42 and I'm just a few steps behind him that is all I've got to say about that. Go to a match and you will see what we are all talking about.

I love it, no matter how well I shoot I always have a great time.

  9. Leadfoot Anny,

When you get ready to pick out your husbands Christmas present, let us know. We'll help you pick out a Dillon reloader for him. (How many shooters was he reloading for today???)

    Flex

My husband reloads for all of us, we try to practice at least twice a week so we keep him bussy.

  10. welcome to the forum. I am new here too. You will find a lot of helpful people here. Me and my husband have been shooting USPSA now for 4-5 months. Today was my best match ever. We had a great time, very nice RO as we always do. I have not ran into anyone who was not nice and helpful. This is a great shooting sport and very nice people.

  11. I fully understand how I got that, but here is an update if anyone cares. I have shot 2 matches since then and must tell you I have gotten a tad bit better each time. Still shooting no shoots sometimes, still making mistakes due to years of backyard bad habits.

I'm still having a blast, can't wait for the next match. :P

  12. Well my family and I had a real good time at the Pickaway Range, and Yes my RO was great. He was shooting my dream gun that I want soooooooooooooooo bad. He was nice enough to take me to the safe area and let me hold the big brother to my dream gun.

All of the folks up there are very helpful, now we will be practicing what those nice folks was telling us today. Thanks to all for all of your help. We will be trying out IDPA soon, just for trigger time and all. We really do love USPSA and the C-ville range.

    Thanks again.

  13. Is there a big difference between USPSA and IDPA and if so what are they? I love shooting and right now I shoot USPSA, I'm still making a lot of mistakes and I have bad habits I'm working on breaking. I have been told I need to try IDPA and from what I have seen and read I'd like to but don't know if there is much of or any difference.

I shot at the Pickaway Range today and every time I go I find the folks more and more helpful.

  14. We just couldn't wait another 2 weeks to shoot, so we went to Z-ville, Rayner Range... As with the first time I had a good time, my shots were a little better, still couldn't keep them white targets from jumping in my line of fire. I'm still sure I did a little better than the first time. (I hope I did anyway) :o
