Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I am looking for a competition holster for a Sig X-Five. I thought I had found a deal on a safariland 012. When I called to see if it fit the X-Five, they told me they don't make any competition holsters for Sigs. Am I going to have to go with a Höppner & Schuhmann holster Speedsec 3 or Sickinger speed machine? I tried using the search function and kept getting an error.
  2. I haven't bought it yet. I have handled it at the local gun shop but am planning on buying it elsewhere for quite a bit less than they are asking. I understand that 14 rounds is low for limited. I wonder if anyone is going to make 140mm magazines for it to maybe bump it up to 16-17. I'm just out to have a good time and improve against myself. I have shot a 9mm 226 sport stock that I have access to and really like sigs.
  3. Thanks Larry, will probably try VV320 I will hopefully be loading it for a Sig X-Five.
  4. I have been shooting 9mm in USPSA, and have decided to move to major and am going to get a .40 S&W gun to do so. I have been loading 9MM for a while now and want to load my own .40 as well. I understand that the .40 is considered a high pressure load, and found the following on the IMR site: 180 GR. HDY XTP 4" barrel DIA: .400" COL: 1.125" fps pressure HiSkor 700-X 4.6 970 34,600 PSI PB 5.1 975 34,400 PSI SR 7625 5.7 990 33,300 PSI SR 4756 6.0 1000 33,100 PSI HiSkor 800-X 7.2 1030 26,000 PSI I was drawn to the HiSkor 800-X, as it claims a much lower pressure, and I have read that a slower burning powder is better in .40 I have also read that the 800X doesn't meter well. I am using an RL-550 to load with. Is there another powder that is comparable, that meters better. I figure that the lower pressure will be good in the long run for the gun, and less likely to cause problems. Is there any way to deduce pressures of different loads? Most of the loads that I have seen elsewhere do not list the pressure. Thanks, Jim
