hidurango,
One of the "big rules" for both IPSC and USPSA Production division is that the first shot must be fired double-action. (Note: Glocks and Springfield XD aren't considered single-action...they have been looked at in regards to function and are good to go.)
I see that the 24-7 is on the IPSC Approved Production Gun List, but your gun is the "Pro" model.
I don't know the guns that well, but it appears that the "Pro" model fires all shots single-action (unless there is a failure to fire, then it has a double-action second strike capability)?
Taurus bills it as a single-action. If it truly is a single-action, then it won't be Production legal.
I understand that Taurus makes a 24/7 that is full-time Double-action-only? If that is true, then that gun would have a chance for approval on the USPSA list.
As to Limited or Limited-10, there is no gun list. There is a rule that all guns and components need to have been produced in the quantity of 500 or greater and been out for at least one year.
16. Any complete handgun or components produced by a factory and available to the general public for one year and 500 produced. Prototypes specifically not allowed.
If your Taurus qualifies (Has it been out a year? Has Taurus produced more than 500?), then it would be legal.
Here is a link to the pdf version of the USPSA rules. The information on the divisions is found at toward the end of the rule book: http://www.uspsa.org/rules/Handgun_15th_2004.pdf
Sorry for the long-winded post. I know you have been asking about this a bit and it seemed like you needed some more info.
Summary: Production...first shot can't be single-action, gun needs to be on the USPSA list if you are shooting USPSA (you are if you are in the USA). Limited/Limited-10...gun needs to be out a year and produced enough (500+) that it's not considered a prototype.
I think you'd be good to go in Limited-10 with your 24/7 Pro.
Thanks I did not see the 500/ 1 year part.

How do you get a pistol sighted in at 25yards. (non adjustable sights) Is this something you would go to a gunsmith for ?
Thanks

I hve heard this phrase on the boards, but what does this mean ?

I have a gun not on the uspsa list for production but it is on the ipsc list. Is their anything stoping me from shooting limited or limited10 with htis gun?

There is nothing wrong with the fobus if that is what you already have. I can draw my glock out of it just as fast and clean as any other good-verygood production shooters.
The most important thing you need is Practice! It is the only thing we get that is free.
If you didn't order yet I would get the Bladetech.
Brian
Yes I have already ordered it and I will try it and see how it works and try bending and see if it is a problem.
Thanks everyone for their advice. I am trying to keep the price down.

As a beginner please stay away from the Fobus products. There are at least two other options for no more money but offer much better performance.
Try these
Now for a simply great holster Merlin is right. The Bladetech DOH leaves very little to be desired.
Good luck, Craig
any particular reason fobus is bad?

When you load amd make ready, do you engage the safety? Or im my case the decocker?
Or do you load a magazine and rack the slide and then holster it?
Thanks

Is a paddle holster good or bad, should I get the belt model or the paddle model?
(fobus for a cz75bd)
Yup another new production shooter to be...
Thanks

USPSA Divisions:
- Production: Everything is scored minor power factor in Production (so 9mm is on even ground). There are no "single-action" guns allowed. Holsters must be of the "non-race" type. No external modifications to the gun (no added magwells, or non-factory parts on the outside). Many Glocks, Berettas, CZ's, XD's, SIG's, Hk's, etc. are home in Production.
Does this mean you have to use the factory grips ? As that would be a non factory part on the outside ?
Thanks

I am a watcher from the side at the moment, and all this talk of mag capacity makes me wonder, how many rounds are shot on average?
I am thinking of going to my first match and since I do have a production gun (1 on the list and 1 not) so I was wondering ho many mags do you need (since they can only contain 10)?
Thanks, this is a great forum.
