I haven't actually done any looking; but I've heard commericial tubes are easier to find right now.

Limited because I can't afford an open gun yet!

Just finished pay the $1000 for the Life Membership last summer. Oh well, hopefully they're using the funds to good use!

Surefire makes one that is easy on and off as long as you have their muzzle device on the end. The Wilson Combat Whisper is also easy on and off with their muzzle device. The Wilson is made of Ti and suppose to be short and light. I don't have experience with either; but have been doing some research as well.

Plus the Ben Lomand match once a month out on the East plains of CO near Ramah.
-
It is getting very frustrating.

Wish we could join you! Looks like a blast. Might have to travel to your location.
if i have any extra I can ship it to you. its free
We don't have access to a range so it would be a no go. It would be a good time to join you. I'd even keep score! Unfortunately, it would be a no go from the boss.

The match isn't complete yet. He's the only one who has shot all the stages. The rest of the guys still have 5 or so more stages to go.

That is the fourth Springfield I've seen do that in basically the same spot over the past 3 years. They were all Brazil guns, either mil specs or loaded models. Springfield always took care of them for the customer.
I saw the same thing happen to a SA back in 2003/2004 timeframe during an indoor match at the Bullet Hole in Omaha, NE.

I might go if Seth goes!!!

I have a buddy with a Cheely .40 single stack that's just plain gorgeous.
How does it shoot? better than a Les Baer 1.5"?
Exactly the same. Pull trigger, goes bang.
I've never shot a Les Baer; but I can say the Cheely shoots real nice.

<<-------------------I had Matt build me a SS in .40. I have to say I'm very happy with it!!!

I also use the tripp 10mm mags and load long. They run great with 8 in the mag. I have problems with the first round if I try running nine.

Putting her new rank, date of the occation and maybe the University she is being commissioned at.
ie Lt Smith commissioned from OSU on 21 May 2011

I like the idea of the desk plate. Only problem is,is that as an aviator she most likely won't have a desk till she gets less active.
This is very true!

I know it's not quite inline with what she is trying to accomplish, but Sun Tzu's book "The Art of War", is said to be the definitive work on military strategies and tactics of its time, and is still read for its military insights.
The Art of War is one of the oldest and most successful books on military strategy in the world. It has been the most famous and influential of China's Seven Military Classics: "for the last two thousand years it remained the most important military treatise in Asia, where even the common people knew it by name." It has had an influence on Eastern military thinking, business tactics, and beyond.

+1 to Sun Tzu. Here are a few others:

Winged Victory (WWII)

Usually it's one to the first person she salutes.

How about a Desk nameplate plaque. Put a butterbar on one and then her name. She can change out the rank insignia as she promotes. Put a little plaque on the back with the name of the University and year.
I got one from my parents and have carried it around with me ever since.
Here are some examples:
Other Option Just add two small holes to the left and add the insignia.

It wasn't a recoilmaster. It was a standard stainless steel guide rod with a STI 12lb spring on it. It did have the small hole which required a paperclip to break down the pistol.

Are you sure the club is encouraging them all to squad together and to not have experianced shooters in the squad? Or is it happening by chance because they like the instructor and want to squad with him/her?
That is what I saw at the first match. All the new shooters (there was like 20-25 of them) were with a couple of instructers in one of the bays. I actually thought it was a shooting class when I first got there until I went to sign up and found out squad one was new shooters. It looked more like a class than a bunch of new shooters trying to figure out USPSA. I haven't been to any of the matches since; so, if they're all still being squadded together, if seems like a bit of a disservice.

I sold three guns (well two, the third will be for sale soon) in order to buy a new one. The three covered the cost of the new one. And she still has a problem with the cost of the new one.
