Now that I have decided to take the next step and buy a dedicated competition rig, I have been looking around for a holster for my Glock 45. I have my eye on a Long Shadow Huron holster, has anyone bought from them and are they GTG? GX Products is out of the equation because of their 16 week lead time.

    It's NOT 16 weeks for GX, it's a 52 week+ wait.

He bought it from a local shop and they sell the real Trijicon products.....Now the funny part.  I shot a match today and after the match I wanted to sight in the dot/gun.  Bang!!!  The dot dies... One shot.

Try to tighten the battery cover.

I've had brand two brand new ones do the same thing and tightening the battery cover cured it.

  3. I've been hearing chatter of quite a few having button issues actually. I have a fairly new, bought at beginning of May, XL with less than 1000 rounds on it and the down button is already getting intermittent.

I ordered mine direct from Mec Gar, they said they are slightly different.  I believe there is a taper to get around past the Dimple that limits the mag to 10 rounds.

You are 100% correct. Sorry for steering you wrong to begin with. When I initially compared, they looked the the same but I compared last night again and the 10 rounders are indeed a little narrower.

9lb in my Optic Ready with SRO and 9lb in my Orange and other Shadow 2s ( 5 total). 9lb in the gf's 4 2's as well. I used to run an 8lb in the Shadow 2 but was advised by Robin Sebo to step up to 9lb, didn't notice a difference in how it handled, so I was happy to do so. But 10-11lb drive the muzzle down when they go back into battery for me.

Are you running the shock buff still too?

Somehow screwed up prior post; operator error on my part.

My question should s what is the preferred coating for the SVI Steel Grip? I am thinking of getting one for an old SVi short block I am planning on building out. If SVI made their grip out of stainless steel, I would go that route.

If I decided to go stainless, the choices I like are Cheely and Lonestar. I like the Limcat magwell I currently use, so that may rule out the Cheely.

Of the two, Cheely or Lonestar, which is a better fit for medium size hands? I currently use a medium length straight trigger.

    Thanks for the input.

Cheely’s magwells are autocorrecting now and mimic the Limcat magwell.

The CO/PCC nationals are in Talladega, Alabama this year at CMP park from the 14th to the 18th of October this year.

I am registered, but I have questions, and rather than pester the MD personally, I figured I would ask here and hopefully the answers will be helpful to anyone attending that has never been there before.

I am driving this year, but last year I flew to Nationals, so for the fliers, what is the airport situation in the area?

Is the the basic scheduling is check in/look around is on Thursday the 14th, then shoot Friday the 15th through Sunday the 17th, then awards, etc. Monday 18th?

I have a choice of AM, PM, AM or PM, AM, PM - 5 stages per day. I guess this boils down to morning person or not, but are there other reasons to choose one set over another?

What kind of weather is typical of Alabama in October?  Should I still be planning for heatstroke mitigation, or needing extra layers or below zero morning followed by 80 degrees, what?

Range cart or golf cart to get to stages?  Follow up, are things like a cart mounted umbrella required, a good idea, unnecessary or verbotten?

Other than the match, is there anything else in the area that I should not miss?

When I am choosing my accommodations are there any areas that one should favor or avoid?

Anyone local to Talladega want to chime in?

Your days are off. Staff is Thurs/Fri (14-15). Regular match is Sat-Mon (16-18)

you can mill for an optic and some lightening but no ports/holes. That is USPSA, but I don't know about IPSC, IDPA, or other games

    False.

Milled holes are allowed in both production and carry optics for USPSA.

I shoot a cz shadow 2, bayou 147, and 3.1 grains of titegroup. Makes 131 power factor.

I am going to try some N320 and would like like to stay at the same pf. Is 3.1 grains of titegroup equal to 3.1grains of N320? If not what would be close?

    Shadow 2, Bayou 147 @1.135, 3.2grs of N320 makes about 132 pf for me.

Are these long in the toe?  I got some the same size as I wear in Speedcross and there's way more length in front.  So much I'm wondering if I got a mislabeled pair.

They definietly fit bigger than the Speedcross does in the same size. Ordered a pair of Supercross and Speedcross when they were on clearance a couple weeks ago and ended up returning the Supercross because they were too big.

I am not sure I want to run the screws from Trijicon.

I have had two SROs go flying.

This one pictured had less then 2K rounds on it.
My SP-01 had about 6K on it.

Both screws sheared on both pistols :(

I gained 8oz doing this to Techwell Positec’s in my 1911

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He was using tungsten powder, the bb’s would probably be more of a gain.

I have lok light weight palm swell grips. Is there a way to add weight to then by filling the void/milled out portion? Tungsten powder and epoxy?

There’s probably a bigger weight gain just buying their brass palm swells they are starting to make. One of the local guys did just what you are trying to do and only gained 0.8oz. Went from 1.3 to 2.1 oz.
