hey everybody. I just figured out why I'm hitting low and left. When i pull the trigger my bottom 3 fingers tighten. Does anyone have any sugjestions on how to fix this?

You should be informed. What was his quoted turnaround time when you dropped it off? If I were you I'd take it back and give it to someone else. It shouldn't take 3+ months to mill unless he is just absolutely backlogged or in demand. lol thing is he never gave a turn around. I think I am going to take it back.

OK got another question about 3 months ago I took a slide to a local smith to have a front dove tail and some front serrations milled. At about the one month point I called and he said he was starting on it that weekend. About a month later I called and he wasn't in the shop, I left a message and I haven't heard anything since. I understand about back log and all that but shouldn't I be kept informed?

Cool thanks guys! I think im going to use it for my build after all. I think putting some history on my gun would be a cool thing to do.

I just traded 2 mags for a 1911 slide figuring I could use it for a build I'm planning and at the very least use it for filing practice. When I swapped it I looked at it I didn't have much hopes for my project. Then I looked it over and got a big suprize. The only markings on the slide are REMINGTON RAND INC. SYRACUSE, NY U.S.A. I rember something about them making 1911's in the 40's. Can any one help me out with more info on remington rand? Did they produce slides after 45? Do I have a gem here? Oh BTW it looks like the slide has never been used on a working gun.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! I posted the same question in a differnt forum. I too ddint think to use the insert like that. Also didnt think to look in the biggers forum for the answer.

There should be some directions that came with the pouches? - if you don't have the pouches, you need to install the inserts that look like an "L" if I remember correctly. To do so, just remove the bolt that holds the front part of the pouch onto the back of the pouch and put the new insert in - reinstall bolt and you should be good to go. It's been a while since I did that, but if I'm off someone else I'm sure can help. yeah they came with directions but they say nothing about single stack! jsut wondering right now my 45 is at the smith and shooting m92 on Sunday so i put those inserts in. for this match
