  1. So it turns out I WON'T be having to buy my older brother a shotgun, since he received one from a charity give away. It's an RIA All Gen and I'm hoping there is a rail system either made for it or made for something with a similar receiver.

Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can give my brother the red dot I bought for him 18 months ago when he thought he'd be getting a Remington 870 DM but his FFL didn't physically have one when he bought it and them Remington went under. I'm really happy for him and hope to be the most helpful little sibling I can be.

could be the new ammo is a little longer and is not fitting front to back as the stack tips down towards the bottom of the stack? they should all be the same size in diameter so that should not be affecting the magazine stacking

That might be it, it's not enough I can really see lining the 3 different ammo types but setting a magazine on top of them with the Stienel in the center I can rotate the magazine but not if it's two Steinels with a TUI in the center. The bullets also don't taper much at all, I didn't notice as much with the TUIs since they are completely different bullet types but looking at the 200gr Underwood it's pretty noticeable the difference in taper.

  3. At long last my 10mm Steinel ammo came, but trying to load 16 rounds into my mags with Henning extensions is harder than loading 19rds of Fort Scott TUIs. If I hadn't bruised all my fingers to death trying to get that 16th and failing to get the 17th I could probably get a 14th into a standard mag but it's way harder than the 200gr Nosler HPs in there now.

I think I remember seeing stuff like this on YouTube about certain ammo just not fitting as well into mags but never experienced it personally. Is this a thing that happens or is something seriously wrong?

    Dang… that’s sad to hear.
Looks like 9mm is also dried up.
    What’s going on?? 😪

Wu Ping Cough really messed up international shipping. Same reason I've been waiting on a .300blk X95 conversion kit for 8 months.

  5. To sum up 15 months worth of lore my brother went to buy a Remington 870 DM for home defense at the beginning of our current pulmonary kerfuffle but his LGS had sold him a gun they didn't have and with Remington going belly up he never got it.

I'm thinking of getting him a Black Aces Pro Series M Pump, but in anticipation of the DM I had bought him a red dot thinking I could just get him the side rail optic mount thing. I e-Mailed Black Aces and they alluded to such a mount for their shotguns but when I asked for further clarification I got no further responses. Does anyone here know if their receivers take similar hardware to Mossbergs, Remingtons, Winchesters or some other common shotgun or if it's a proprietary thing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  6. I thought I didn't like the chrome finish [kinda went through a lot to avoid buying a Stock II because of it] but I gotta admit your guns here are making me question that...

What is the big thing atop the one with the blue grips? Is it a mount that holds the red dot sideways?

  7. I have a stock standard Witness steel frame, and especially with guns and ammo being so hard to come by accessories are a good outlet for my hoplophilia. Aside from aesthetics is there any difference between the standard, Delta Xtreme, and Hart [Heart?] shaped hammers?

That charging handle is so cool! And I love the way the silver controls look. I might have to send my Witness off to get the controls, trigger and hammer coated too!

  9. Man that's cool! Whatever it is you got one awesome rig. Though can red dots stand up to 10mm reliably? I've heard that as far as ones riding on reciprocating slides most micro red dots are only intended to be used on 9mm and .45acp.

I have no first hand knowledge of the round top slides cracking, I just know the internet lore that they must because there is less metal, that said there is still as much or more metal that say a tri topped 1911 or CZ Czechmate. Tanfoglio has over they years had like most firearms manufactures had matches of slides that had improper heat treat or bad casting or both and have had slides fail.

I would personally have no issues with a round top slide other than I find them less aesthetically pleasing. All guns break or wear out, its just a matter of shooting them enough, at 500 rounds a year its unlikely you will get close to that ever barring a defect from the factory.

Yeah, I don't like it as much as a square-top with front slide serrations but those are hard to come by right now. I wanted to know before I sent it off to get NP3+ coated since I can't get a wonder finish compact 10mm slide at all.

how much do you plan to shoot it? being a 10mm I would assume not that much so likely not really a issue as the round count wont be through the roof like most competition guns

Approximately 600rds per year. What kind of round counts are people usually experiencing slide cracking at, on average? Like 5 figure numbers?

And all this seemingly admits that the round slides do indeed crack easier?
