This is not correct.  I put in a Timney AR-15 Competition 3 lb trigger (667S-ST) and it works really well.  The slope on the cassette allows it to fit.

I have an extra one for sale here if anyone is looking to use anything else other than the Geissele:

What is the reset like compared to the stock JP5 trigger?

TTI are toolless to disassemble and reassemble. There's a push pin that's friction fit that holds it on. Though with PCC, there's no reason to have to take apart your mags to clean between stages since you aren't dropping them.

I just did an outlaw match where they required 3 reloads in the stage.  A reload at each point.

  3. Not as sexy as what you guys are running but I have been running Kriss mag extensions.  I have only had an issue with Blazer Brass 147grn ammunition but that jammed up in the factory Glock 17 magazine and another time I tripped on a barrier and slammed the mag extension blowing the base out with the spring, follower and rounds (I hit it going all out).  I did bevel the base of the parent magazine as my only caveat.

I would like to try the Taran since it looks like you are having good luck with it.

I can assure you that no parts are ever skipped in prep or skimped out on. Every trigger, hammer and disconnecter has a prep process and trigger feel can vary from builder to builder. As for the short rear screw, that’s installed as a plug screw not a fake screw. That rear hole is for “pro” installs which is something you can do yourself if you get the kit but won’t be built unless specified due to very light triggers (2lbs) and safety. Hope that helps.

What is this kit you speak of?  I looked on their site and didn't see anything about "pro" installs or a kit for it?  I must have missed it?

    Thank you.

  5. Crazy to hear because I have been running  Federal 150grn Syntech through my Shadow 2 Accu from CZC for about two years now without any issues.  I probably have 3K or 4K rounds of 150 grn syntech down the tube.  Only issues I had with the gun was my fault, one match I bumped the safety up while shooting is what I believe I did (big knuckles cause issues sometimes), the second time was the last stage at the end of a 2 gun run and gun biathlon were I limp wristed the gun after being tired from running and I think I had a crappy grip (combination of cramping up while trying to run a stage, being tired from doing/running almost 7 miles by that time, multiple other stages and carrying my gear).

The FED 130grn Syntechs are meant for PCC's.

My Shadow did NOT like Blazer Brass 124grn.  I had failures every mag, maybe I just got a bad lot?

Everything else my Shadow seems to run fine.  Blazer Brass 115, 147grn, Seller and Belloit (SP) 115grn, Eley, Syntechs, Fiochi all with no issues.

Did the Blazer 115 lead the comp bad?  I picked up several K on black Friday sales.

I have probably 1K in Blazer Brass on my JP5.  While it is really soft shooting it is dirtier then a lot of other ammo I shoot.  I have leading on the comp from it but it is nothing that really bothers me (little elbow grease and it will clean up).  I prefer to use Federal 130grn PCC Syntec and that is mostly what I feed through it.  The next best ammo that I like shooting through it is Eley PCC ammo.

Love my 60 degree lock piece with lightest spring. Not sure why people say it wont work and is for hot duty ammo.

Same here.  I have ran it with the 70 and 80 and keep going back to the 60* cam.  You have to be aware that running the 60* cam with lighter ammunition can cause problems.  I once canted my PCC with the ejection port facing up using some Eley PCC ammo (shoots really soft but the JP seems like it is running a bit slow with it) and it didn't fully eject inducing a failure.

I do like the Eley PCC ammo but I like the Federal Syntec130grn PCC ammo more. Blazer Brass 115 grn shoot pretty well also with the 60* cam.

I am debating on playing with the spring rates.  I am really happy where I am at so I'm not sure how much more playing around with it that I want to do?

I've shot IDPA a handful of times, mostly practice, one official match, and of course during my wait for the stage I study and plan out every move. Then when the buzzer sounds I fumble for magazines, hesitate on targets and ran in the wrong direction once. How the heck do I get over this hump?

I had to laugh when I saw this.  This is sssssoooooo me!!!  I make a plan and then the buzzer goes off and then I just go all Leroy Jenkins and start blasting away, not in accordance with my plan.

I find that when I try to slow and calm myself down, pause and take a breath that I have more control and am able to focus more versus being a spastic clown running through the stage.  I'll admit that going all spastic at times can be fun and definitely entertaining for the onlookers but it sure doesn't help the outcome.  An old saying always comes to mind, slow is smooth and smooth is fast.  We always said that when doing CQB in the Army.

This is fun, great training, you get to hang out with cool people and there is no Bass Boat at stake.  Point being, don't be too hard on yourself, have fun, relax, try to get better but have fun at it.

Just installed the agw perfect match. This is basically a matched egw set.

Honestly, the hardest part is getting the safety off. Start with the left side and the safety needs to be between safe and fire. Just needs a steady pull but be careful not to lose the detent.

If you're hesitant about the assembly and disassembly, take a lot of photos as you go.

Thank you, it sounds pretty easy.

That got me thinking, the first time I shot my JP5 I shot BB, S&B and JHP reloads. When I cleaned it I had to scrape off a lot of fouling in the comp. I thought maybe it was powder but now I wonder if it was melted lead from the exposed lead bases on the S&B. The next time I shot it was only JHP reloads and there wasn't any of that, just like carbon like I get from my open guns.

I find the BB to be a bit dirty but it shoots pretty good.  I think some people have said the same about S&B.

  11. I agree, I just felt it was worth mentioning since I have ran it before without issue.

I usually play with Federal PCC 130grn Syntech and Eley 115grn PCC ammo with the 60*.  I did have an issue with the 130grn when I canted the rifle around a barrier with ejection port facing up and you can guess what happened.

I am just curious and wonder if lowering the buffer spring would let me tune it a bit more while running the lower PF ammo with the 60* cam??

This is mostly experimentation/exploration for me.  I am having a lot of fun playing around with this PCC and running it.

  12. I was shooting my JP5 last Sunday with 115grn Blazer Brass and the 60* cam.  I don't think it was fully cycling the ammunition.  This was the first time I had the issue with this brand, so it might be a inconsistent lot?

The guys finished up playing with one of our DWX guns so we could pack it up and take it to SHOT Show.

Starting to see what can be added to such a fun platform.

Did some slide lightening. sorry, didnt weigh it.

Cut a comp into the thicker part of the barrel to actually get a chamber and not just holes in the barrel. works really well.

    Cut for the SRO.

Made a magwell that blends better than the CZ factory well does.

Drilled and tapped mag release for paddle

Installed a new hammer and did trigger job, set at 2# right now.

No pricing on the work yet.

But if in Vegas, come on by the CZ Custom booth and check it out.

Wow!  I need to call you guys!  Still loving my Shadow 2 Accu from you guys, but this is awesome looking.

Close call as to what costs more the JP-5 or all your ammo! What do you think of the weight of your Eotech on the JP?

I'm also running an Eotech ( @Boomstick303) made the recommendation and I love it.  Very happy with that choice especially after the last match that involved a lot of rain (and me tripping on an upright for a barricade in the mud).
