Wouldn't it be nice that IPSC and USPSA actually had the same standards for these type of things. I vote vor the USPSA standard 😉

    Correct

I'd rather not... since you just voted yourself into possession of illegal magazines...
Belgium law clearly states that only IPSC shooters (= active membership) have the right to possess <171mm HG magazines, otherwise you are restricted to 20 round mags for HG.

Regarding the lawmaking and speed and f*#kery lately, I'd rather keep it as is...
Germany already got f*#ked with their HG and PCC magazines...

  2. Horrible engineered safety's is the reason.

I've had one break the plunjer installed, eating the frame before I knew it.

On my new gun the safety plunjer went out to far, couldn't reinstall it. Then a bit later the plunjer launched itself ...

Quality control is all over the place with the safety's, a mechanical indent holds them in place. This is always the issue

If you mean the right-side extended safety, then this might fit the bill -> https://www.ipscstore.com/en/cz-shadow-2-parts/11612-cz-shadow-2-safety-wide-for-right-side.html KMR takes the S2 slide stop and has the exact same right-side flat safety as the S2, so I don't see a reason this S2 part wouldn't fit.

What's the source for this time period? KMR folks at their booth?

Yes, Buddy of mine was really interested but LH. Apparently it's KMR proprietary, it was far out from releasing.

At the European Handgun Championship in September, I made a point to check out a number of CZ "clones" and compare to the Shadow 2 Orange. I checked out the Phoenix Redback, KMR Spectra, CZ Customs, Tanfoglio Stock 3 Pro, Stock 2 and Extreme. Honestly, I was not that impressed with the Shadow 2 Orange trigger (stock). It was definitely heavy, as you have noticed, but there was still some single action creep. In my humble opinion, the trigger was just slightly better than a standard Shadow 2, certainly not 1000€ better. The Shadow 2 does, however, seem to respond very well to spring upgrades so I don't doubt you can get a much nicer trigger with a little work.

Comparing all those guns, I think the Phoenix and KMR offerings (all production division guns, since that's what I shoot) were the nicest. However, their triggers were certainly not that much lighter (if at all) compared to the Shadow 2 Orange, so even those would probably benefit from lighter springs as well.

As far as "best production division trigger" goes, I have to give that to the Laugo Alien but that's a whole other beast.

True, all cz's on the booth had roll creep in SA as well. Then again, there was a Tanfo with a stock hammer that was really nice, while mine on the OR was pure garbage.

I was throwing in a Unica anyway so didn't bother about it.

KMR's are really nice, but they need LH extended safety, which are still a long way out.(2 years aprox).

Phoenix is nice as well, but the price is to much. Even KMR is expensive, around 3k for a production gun, around 4,5k for a Drake production. No thanks...

I'll stick to my Tanfo's, and my buddies to their CZ's

I think Tanfos are more of a gun store purchase kind of gun, if that makes sense.  The kind of gun to evaluate in person.  They are inconsistent, sometimes wildly so.  This is why when the Shadow 2 came out from CZ, Tanfos started disappearing from matches amazingly fast.

I bought two Stock 2s about four months apart when I was shooting Production for a handful of years, and they had very different beaver tail shapes, different quality of checkering, completely different hammers, and on one of them the trigger guard was incredibly sharp and cut my left finger all the time during dryfire. One of them I had to reshape the extractor hook to make it correct, and I also did that to several shooters guns in my region for the same reason.  I am a person who switched to the Shadow 2.

Everyone started shooting shadow 2's because of the price. You could buy a shadow 2 for 930 to 970€ at 2017-2018.

While a tanfo is still around the same price it was back then.

I've got 3 different generations and they all are fine to me. The only difference is beavertail rounding. Which has small differences between them.

I was doing equipment check's a while ago on a match, and had around 4 recent shadow 2's, that moved the sear cage all over the place when the safety was engaged and the trigger was pressed.....

One was brand new and stock...

  6. Is it a large frame? My OR grips are spot on. So are all my other stock 2 factory grips. I've only have Quality issues with armanov grips wich aren't perfect and have a slight gap at the front of the grip meeting the frame(différent sides, while originals are all perfect flat). All mine are SF. I can hardly believe those are fitted at Factory ! Looks like s#!t

Buy a Tenfoglio Domina and put sticker on it   "Checkmate 2 " ,Because surely their new model will be similar🤣

    Am thinking exactly the same.

Ts2 orange and limited do feel differently though. One is heavy on the front and grip feels larger, might be that xtremely high placed safety which I didn't like. The other is nimble and balanced.

Do they make a rear irons sight the uses same screws as sro if it was cut for an optic?

All models from 2022 are cut different then before and have one xtra mounting screw.

The iron sights and multi dot adapter plate are part from the pistol kit.

Pre 2022 OR models cannot install the iron sight plate since the cut is different.

  9. What do you want us to say?
Clearly you have made up your mind already.

The only thing he can do is narrow the frame to the slide by hammering or pressing. The barrel lugs on top fit or not, there are no lugs to cut at the bottom or links to play with like a 2011.

Personally I wouldn't even cerakote it, unless you got it cut for an optic, it's a race gun. It will get beat up...

In the long run you will probably get a Stock 2, Stock 3 Pro, or a shadow 2.

It's not the guys with a nice fancy looking gun I'm afraid of, it's those with banged up mag pouches, holsters and guns that show their use...

Like I've said above, hammer, xtreme sear, springs, and all the rest is optional to test out later.

  10. No reason for it, I've got 3 stock 2's and my oldest has close to 100k Rounds and still is accurate at 25m. The frame can be tightened to the slide, but I would never do it. My new one is hardchrome and slightly tighter but just build it to my prefered specs and maybe only shot 350 Rounds so far.

Don't bother tuning a 2 piece sear and standard hammer (my latest had horrible creep), buy a Xtreme sear and titan or heavy Unica hammer and be done with it.

  11. The new slide cuts are stroked. I've got a new one, but I still need to change parts to the same config as my other guns (out of the shop this trigger was horrible)
It shot smoother/softer the one time I testfired it, I think it was the medium hammer spring compared to the light ones that I normally run, recoil spring was the same. Might also be the fitment, this one has almost no play, my main match gun has quite some play by now.

  12. Replace the sear it looks worn, I've got a worn in sear with a Unica hammer and it still fires perfectly but you might be out of luck. Unica hammer hooks are way smaller.

Other issues might be sear reset. Check that they triggerbar can move downwards to reset when racking the slide.

FPB Will needs some adjustment with Unica Parts since the timing is slightly different compared to delta/titan hammer.(different geometry)

Since the previous owner put in an Extreme part it might of been the sear. If that's the case an adjustment to the sear might be needed to get the double action to work. We won't know till you put back the disconnector and pin. While your waiting for the parts take a look at MemphisMechanic's videos on YouTube. Well worth the watch.

The sear has nothing to do with DA.

He just needs a disco and pin.

  14. Is this a LF or SF, because I've seen both been sold in germany.

The only problem I only ever had was SA dropping in DA when fitting a Unica hammer. In an xtreme stock 2. (had to do allot of disco grinding to get it to clear the SA drop)
Originally I've had a Titan hammer and it was installed by grauffel's gunsmith Sebastien, there was some modification done to the disco there aswell.

FYI for the guys reading ,the UNICA sear is longer as the xtreme one and increases the throw arc of SA by 1.2mm.
Also this one needs fitting to engage the safety when used in an xtreme gun.

I always modify the FPB to the moment the hammer hooks let go. At that moment the firing pin is free.
I'm running a 10 pounds spring on an old Sframe (non stroked, the new ones are).
The only moment I get stovepipes are when the gun is very dirty and badly oiled and/or shooting one handed with a bad grip. Running standard extraction spring, 145gr ammo.

If you are at the Infinity open (Philipsburg) next month I could have a look at it.

Separate but related question on durability - any ideas how long the barrel on these last? I picked up a preowned one (in CA so not able to get new ones) with probably 50k rounds through it. Rifling looks a bit worn but still there

Just want to get a sense of how much life I have left in it, and new barrels can just be dropped in, given people's anecdotes of having guns with 100k-250k rounds on them

Truth it these poly barrels keep going. My accuracy was still top notch.
There's people with 195K rounds on these and then the barrel snapped in two.
