I would make the following changes: Swap the Sprinco guide rod for a conventional one Replace the extractor (you should spares anyway) and FP stop Check your ammo-you didn't mention what load you are using. I am a little leery of those Aftec extractors, they aeem to be an ingenious solution for a non-existant problem.
  2. I just picked up a DPMS 22LR upper. It wasn't cheap at $350 and $19.95 per extra mag, but I think it will pay for itself in the long run. Its great to bang away for less than two cents per shot, and the 22LR upper has the same feel as my .223 with a lot less noise. The unit was extremely unreliable until I did some serious polishing in the chamber. After the chamber polishing the gun has gone 400 rounds without a failure to feed.
