That is fine if you just plan on shooting in NY. If you plan on shooting any matches around the country in open, you will be at a disadvantage. Just something else to muddy the water, lol

Sorry Guy. She and the redhead from Idaho were always a classy team.

Life can be a fleeting endeavor. What a strange way to have your life taken, doing something I am sure he loved doing.

I am really sorry to hear this.

I use a 95 gr zero for my steel loads. 2011 shorty, with a 2 port comp. I use 4.7 gr. of Universal clays. really nice. It runs about 1250 fps and shoots like a 22.
-
Chuck, that is a good looking 9mm...

I have a dedicated steel gun that is a commander length slide that has the bejesus cut out of it. I shoot 4.7 grains of universal clays under a 95 grain zero bullet.. It seems the dot just quivers a little. The bullet chronos at 1250 fps and it is super flat and soft. when I shoot the same load out of a 9mm limited gun, it feels a lot more snappy; I am pretty sure the comp is working.

If it is hard chromed, you also could have galling issues.
-
If I didn't load it, I wouldn't shoot it. unless you got it from someone you know that has good reloading skills.

I have used te cheap novak 45 mags in mine, never had an issue in 5 years wit my STI trojan...

Pete,
Why do you need this? Are you finding badly bulged cases? The Mak OD is 0.390 where as the 9x19 is 0.391 at the base so a Mak die would certainly remove a bulge without drastically under sizing the case but I am not sure it is a good idea to work that end of the case for 9 major. I have yet to find a case that was not properly sized by a standard Dillon die. Crimped primers, another story.
Later,
Chuck
PS: You gonna be around anytime soon. I am getting tired of carrying your trial powders.
Chuck, we have been over this before.....1050, end of story....lol

I have used both HS6 and Autocomp. They both work well with the MG 121 ifp that I use. You have to clean your gun with both. Autocomp is cheaper to buy, and you use less.At 7 grains of WAC I chrono at 171 pretty much wherever I go.

If your barrel is not hitting the frame and the link or the slide stop pin is taking the beating and breaking, your barrel is not fit properly. If your gun is properly timed, you should be able to push the barrel or comp against something and be able to move your pin with ease, even remove it from the gun.
-
I also have shot boatloads of WCC. Your 1050 wont even know it is crimped. It will be good to go after that.

At what distance are you bore sighting. Also. bore sighting is just to get you on paper. You should sight your gun in at 25 yards or better yet 50 yards. If you sight in at 7 or 10 yards like some people do, you will find your point of impact is much higher at distance. Parallax will get you.

Chuck, retirement is the second best thing that ever happened to me....

I used to have 2 popple holes in my cone comped 9 mm gun. Super loud and it will jack up your c-more in a hurry with a 90 degree mount. No blast shield. I would try to find a load that you like better with 121's or 115's like Hiro told you. The same load went from 170 power factor to 182 with changing barrel to one with no holes also.

9 major. Lots of room left compared to most powders. I managed to get 32 pounds of SP2 at a real good price, so that is what I am using now. When I heard that HS7 was going to be discontinued, I bought all I could get, 64 pounds. I sure miss it. SP 2 ends up all over the place even with an Arrendondo powder bar. I have to clean my 1050 far more often because of the powder getting under the shell plate and jamming my primer feeder. The SP2 fills the case to just about the same level as HS7.
-
I just finished up the last of my HS-7. I loved it. I was using 10.2 grains with a MG 121 IFP. 2 popple holes and always chronoed between 170 and 172. It filled the case between 5/8 to 3/4 to the top. I used small rifle primers, and they looked fine, weren't all that flat.

Did you change your crimp? Over crimped rounds will also tumble.

I carry an STI VIP in .40. I shoot it maybe once a month. I have had it 13 years. I have not had any malfunctions with it. The mag springs keep shoving those rounds up to fire.
