Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I carry an STI VIP in .40. I shoot it maybe once a month. I have had it 13 years. I have not had any malfunctions with it. The mag springs keep shoving those rounds up to fire.
  2. That is fine if you just plan on shooting in NY. If you plan on shooting any matches around the country in open, you will be at a disadvantage. Just something else to muddy the water, lol
  3. Sorry Guy. She and the redhead from Idaho were always a classy team.
  4. Life can be a fleeting endeavor. What a strange way to have your life taken, doing something I am sure he loved doing.
  5. I use a 95 gr zero for my steel loads. 2011 shorty, with a 2 port comp. I use 4.7 gr. of Universal clays. really nice. It runs about 1250 fps and shoots like a 22.
  6. Chuck, that is a good looking 9mm...
  7. I have a dedicated steel gun that is a commander length slide that has the bejesus cut out of it. I shoot 4.7 grains of universal clays under a 95 grain zero bullet.. It seems the dot just quivers a little. The bullet chronos at 1250 fps and it is super flat and soft. when I shoot the same load out of a 9mm limited gun, it feels a lot more snappy; I am pretty sure the comp is working.
  8. If it is hard chromed, you also could have galling issues.
  9. If I didn't load it, I wouldn't shoot it. unless you got it from someone you know that has good reloading skills.
  10. I have used te cheap novak 45 mags in mine, never had an issue in 5 years wit my STI trojan...
  11. Chuck, we have been over this before.....1050, end of story....lol
  12. I have used both HS6 and Autocomp. They both work well with the MG 121 ifp that I use. You have to clean your gun with both. Autocomp is cheaper to buy, and you use less.At 7 grains of WAC I chrono at 171 pretty much wherever I go.
  13. If your barrel is not hitting the frame and the link or the slide stop pin is taking the beating and breaking, your barrel is not fit properly. If your gun is properly timed, you should be able to push the barrel or comp against something and be able to move your pin with ease, even remove it from the gun.
  14. I also have shot boatloads of WCC. Your 1050 wont even know it is crimped. It will be good to go after that.
