  1. I have shot a couple of IDPA matches as a non-member of a club "out West"

When the scores were posted, I had 12 procedurals. Nobody said anything to me while I

    was shooting.

I really believe that the score keepers enjoyed giving procedurals.

That's a great way to discourage new shooters from coming back.

  2. As posted, my original though was to add a CORE slide or modify my Pro to take

    a dot.

After talking to my gun shop owner, he convinced me to buy a CORE.

It should arrive in a few days.

I am hard to convince. It took him at least 30 seconds for me to decide to buy another gun.

  3. After looking at the 14 pages of comments I am reminded of a story.

there was a monastery where the monks could only say one sentence a year.

During a meal, one monk said " the potatoes are awful".

A second monk said "the potatoes are fine". Silence

    A year goes by.

The first monk says " I think the potatoes are awful ".

The second monk replies "the potatoes are good". silence

    Another year goes by.

The first monk repeats his original complaint.

The second monk repeats his reply.

A third monk stands up and says " I'm leaving. I can't stand all this bickering".

  4. Some of you older folk may remember the play "SOUTH PACIFIC"

Since I got my CZ Custom, I have been singing a (slightly) altered

    song from that show.

It goes like this: I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in

love with a wonderful GUN !!!!!!

  5. I bought a box of 147s to compare with the 115s. Both factory.

I have a CZ Custom, and at 10 yards, there was no difference. They both shot

a group that could be covered by a nickel.

  6. This afternoon I was practicing with empty mags fron CZ and the bottom fell out, just like

    in the video.

I have only had the SP01 for a few weeks and haven't done much in the way of mag changes.

I have been shooting USPSA for 15 years with a large variety of guns, from 1911s to various

"tupperware" and never had this happen.

I'm glad it didn't happen during a match....I have enough excuses.

  7. After waiting about three months, my Shadow arrived two days ago.

I am as happy as Dracula in a blood bank !

I haven't shot it in a match yet, but shooting it indoors at 10 yards offhand (in my 76 year old

hands), I shot a five shot group that could be covered by a quarter.

A double action Bill Drill was faster than one singe action.

My only small compaint (every body has them) was there is not enough travel

in the rear sight adjustment to drop the group to point of aim.( I am shooting 115 grain

factory loads. I will try 147 grain when I can find them.) With the sight all the way down,

the group is about 2" high at 30 feet.

I am looking forward to the next match to see how it handes at speed.

  8. A few years ago I bought a 34' by 14' shed for an indoor range. I put three steel plates, 4' by 7', at the back with railroad ties

in front of them to eliminate bounce back. The wall and ceiling were covered with insulation to reduce noise. I also installed an

exhaust fan to take care of lead powder.

With a heater for winter use, it is a great way to practice shooting at targets up to 10 yards.

There are no indoor ranges anywhere within a reasonable distance.

  9. The Maid

A maid asked for a pay increase.

The wife was very upset about this and asked: "Now Maria, why do you want a pay increase?"

Maria: "There are three reasons why I want an increase..

The first is that I iron better than you."

Wife: "Who said you iron better than me?"

    Maria: "Your husband said so."

    Wife: "Oh."

Maria: "The second reason is that I am a better cook than you."

Wife: "Nonsense, who said you were a better cook than me?"

    Maria: "Your husband did."

    Wife: "Oh."

Maria: "My third reason is that I am a better lover than you."

Wife (really furious now): "Did my husband say that as well?"

Maria: "No but the gardener did."

    SHE GOT THE RAISE

  10. A rear sight should never come loose. I would get it to a gunsmith to see why and then sort it out. I know of one person that has constant problems with rear sights coming loose but that is because he uses 255gr RN`s in his 45 and no amount of advice can convince him that it is knackering his gun and the loose rear sight is just a symptom and not the problem.

About a year ago I was practicing with my Limited gun. During a free style string of fire, something hit me in the mouth. I put my hand to my lip and came away with blood. I guess I probably looked rather shocked trying to figure out who hit me. I looked down at the gun and noticed it no longer had a rear sight. During recoil, the sight came off and gave me a "fat lip". I found the sight on the ground a few feet away. I haven't shot the gun since.
