  1. Obviously, someone at USPSA decided how much these guns should weigh?.... I thought this would be clear in my post??? .   So say, if I took  a Glock and made it 45 oz's. (Or what was ever the max. weight is at the time ), I would have an illiegal gun?... But say, I got any metal frame gun to the max. weight allowed, I'm legal???.... You will always have the argument of a "heavy" gun versis a "light" gun. and muzzle flip.. Give ANY GM shooter ANY gun (plastic or metal) and they will out shoot most of us... I'm done, appently I didn't explain my question well???..  And the anwser is .....32 oz's of plastic = 45 oz's of metal???... I'm done.
    Why all the question marks?

  2. Use a nail clipper. Clip the middle and pull the old fiber optic out. Slide a new one end, use a lighter not a torch. Don't put the flame on the optic and you will start to see it mushroom, do the front first.

  3. I think Jayson makes custom grips, maybe you can send those to him to copy. I asked him about something unusual and he nodded, but told me it would be expensive

I have tried the Hennings and they were very good, but I realized that I'd rather have a constant thickness all the way up there grip rather than a palm swell.  So far, these aluminums from M-Arms in Europe have fit me the best (I got the 'thick' ones)......

I wish I could get these 'cloned' in G10 or rubber.  Although they look rather slab-sided, that angled contour on the backstrap realm sits well in my palm.  I got them in short/thick for my SP01/TS hybrid 'Longslide', too.....

I agree. I have Hennings on 3 Shadow 2's after having a lot of other grips on various CZ's. I've quit looking at grip  claims. These are to me the best grips anywhere.
Do they make them for the TSO?

  5. Jayson now makes it minus the swell on the top part. I'm ordering 3 of those for my TSO. And if I can get a deal on a S2, I'll be in for that as well

  6. The importance of a back up gun is not so much with a CZ. When getting into Production Optics, I purchased a second shadow and had it set up identically with intentions of it being a back up. I feel it is a waste, and sometimes think of selling it in weak moments as it is never used. All I do is wipe the dust off it since I got it. CZ's seldom break or malfunction. The only weakness with the shadows is the TRS which has been known to break, however, I have not heard of them breaking on a S2, so they may have put in a stronger spring, not sure.
Couldn't you use one as a practice dry fire gun and the other for competition

Neither the CZC or Grams kits are drop in. The Grams followers have to be filed. The CZC springs have to be bent. Call CZC and they will give you the instructions for which part of the spring needs bending.
That's not true, I used the gram with Springer plates (both 140mm and stockish height) and works fine. I just dropped it in and shot 3 matches so far with it with one match being 6 stages of classifiers

  8. I love the CZC version on my TSO. So much so I looked around for a thumbrest to match

yes, that is what I am trying to do.  I have two Shadow 2s and safety works on my TSO, but don't want to take them off permanently.  Trying to just find one that can live on my TSO.

  9. Just an update on my quest to a "factory" thumbrest and my solution to a more comfortable grip for my hand size. I made a mock up space so I didn't have to file down the factory screws that were too long. I did this because the thumbrest interferes with the slide stop and instead of taking more material off the rear of the thumbrest. I do understand I could use the supplies pins and they do work, but it created 2 issues for me: 1 the hole left open and 2 the slide not locking back. Of course it gives me extra work to take the gun down, but it's not something that will drive me nuts.

Any suggestion on what I should make the final spacers with, I just eyed a post it note on my desk while I went to clean the gun and said eff it.09f302863857e3f382f7c36868a7b60f.jpg36394d1320b3344d14c03b3fe8d3d99a.jpg

  10.
To get 17 +3 rounds .40 in TSO, what exactly do I order?  Is it the following?
    1. CZC 140mm base pad SKU 10072(silver) and 10090(black)
    2. Grams Spring/Follower Kit CZ Tactical Sport / Czechmate 13 Coils (not 11 coils).

With the above combination, would I still get slide locked back on last round?  Would it fit stock TSO magwell without any mod?
I can't seem to find a store where I can order both together. Do you know any?

And, ditto all the same questions for 9mm to get 20 +3 or 4 rounds,  Do I order the exact same things above (do they work on both 9mm and .40 mags)?

    Thanks in advance.
I went with Springer precision 140mm and gram springs. But I also shoot 9mm

  11. If you like the stock grips and just want a more agressive texture the thin bogies are great.
Exactly what he said. If you get your S2 and want thicker grips order the palm swells.

  12. So I modified the thumbrest to work with the slide release and it needs a little more shaving to allow the mechanical slide lock to work, but something even more interesting popped up. The thumbrest is thinner than stock and even though it shipped with torx screws that are the same length as stock, they do not work. They are too long for the thinner thumbrest inferring with the slides operation.

Pictured are the same screws on slant and factory installed thumbrest for reference. About an 1/8th of an inch.

Hope someone benefits from my discoveries. And the pins do work just fine even though I mentioned they appeared short in a previous post. What was stopping the slide was the screws. I will edit that post to reflect this.20dd8705ea0da715e19da1b0166e8525.jpg59c9a12cfff18e6da24a97eb404463a1.jpgd4d415efe6ab268c6e4b98a719cae353.jpg41894960189e2e2eaab65c2a87212860.jpg
