  1. Wasnt like that when new. It continues to wear. The disconnect doesnt show any considerable wear. I assume its either a harder material or its just the way they are making contact. Havent had any upgrade work. Its post upgrade production. Will contact sig next month if I get a chance and see what they say.

  2. You can see how the disconnect tracks far enough towards the centerline that it prevents it from dipping into the hole. Where as mine tracks straight into the hole. Just bad luck on the tolerances I think. I’ve been thinking about sending a pic to a sig service rep. Even if the disconnect riser was just a touch wider it wouldnt be an issue.

  3. Its varied. Mine was not mushy, it hung up at the base of the sear and clicked. Like others have said its like a second trigger break. They definetly are having some problems.

Thanks for the info. In my searching for a comparison I found a post somewhere, can't remember the forum, of a guy who installed the Apex trigger bar with his GG kit and he said there was a popping sound when he pulled the trigger and the reset was mushy feeling and not as defined.

If you do feel so inclined to be a second tester I would be curious to tour experiences.

What exactly is a “mushy reset?” I know the apex bar should increase pull weight a tiny bit but it should be no more than a half lb or so. Personally thats insignificant imo. I plan on getting an apex bar soon. Will report my experience when I get it installed.

I can help you as I have both kits. The only thing that I thought the Apex kit was superior in was the pre-travel. The Apex kit eliminated all pre-travel for me. I just installed the GG kit and it is much lighter than the Apex kit. The only problem I have with the GG kit is the grittiness that some people are having. I only seem to feel it when I am doing slow dry-fire and not quick live fire. I def would like to try my Apex trigger bar and pretravel bar with the other parts of the GG kit but I don't know if it would work or not. I don't want to be the guinea pig and might wait for someone else to try it.

(I do know my Apex flat trigger would not work with the GG kit)

I’m curious in what way the apex trigger “would not work.” Wouldnt break? Wouldnt reset? Couldnt get it installed? Doesnt seem likes theres enough difference for it to be completely incompatible.

  6. Removed mine to see if it would work in a standard 320 module. Came out pretty easily by removing trigger unit and tapping a small flat head screwdriver intonthe crease at the bottom (magwell opening.) It just slides into a slot which more than 50% enclosed if that makes sense. The standard 320 has a slot there aswell but its open (<50% enclosed) so it wont stay in place. It would only take a very slight change in design to make it interchangable between grips. Given advertised modularity I dont see why they didnt make it that way to begin with. Kinda like the magazines that weren't cross compatible till they modified the design. Least well thought out, well thought out design decisions I’ve seen.

  7. Getting a lot of wear from the disconnect that goes up into the disconnect notch (post factory upgrade) sliding into the hole for the sight plate just forward of the notch. Posted a similar pic of this elsewhere but this one shows much more clearly the amount of wear I’m getting. Its getting heavy enough that I’m actually concerned now that over time it may cause functionality issues. If it gets grooved out deep enough the slide may start to hang up on it. Just curious if anyone else with 1k plus rounds is seeing the same thing.

Careful with this home gunsmithing, you should never attempt any modifications that the factory engineers didn't intend!

Like I said not modifying anything. Not doing anything beyond knocking off an edge that would eventually wear no less. Wouldnt recommend anyone tamper with engagement angles, removing enough material to reduce surface area of contact points or anything of the sort but polishing is pretty safe.

    (Oh, it’s you. ?)

  9. Looking again at the sear, I can see a very fine hair line at the base of the sear face where the 2 angles come together. I can’t catch it on camera with a cellphone but it looks like whatever implement they used to polish it just didnt quite reach 100% into the angle. Its like the finest of hair lines but with how sharp the strikers edge was it was enough to catch on it.

  10. Right, Didnt replace it or use a stone on it so much as to change any angles or remove a lot of material. Just softened up the sharpness of the edge that was grabbing into the sear. I probably could have taken some polish to the base of the sear face but its a lot harder to get into that little corner than it is to touch up an edge.

With my Apex kit, the pre-travel bar came with a spring. The GG kit did not come with one. I wonder if it would help to install that spring?????

I assume you mean the spring that comes with it for the apex version of the overtravel stop? I dont have but I think thats just to keep it from rattling around freely. Perhaps another owner can confirm.

I wondered that when I read your post. If you ever take yours apart again, I would love to see a pic of what you are talking about as I am having a difficult time picturing what you mean by striker hook.

The corner there was quite sharp. I didnt do so much as to really change it or round it off. Just a few light strokes followed by some mothers polish to take the edge off. Like I said, mine actually made an audible and tactile click upon initial trigger press as that edge first broke free from the bottom corner of the sear face.

Do you think you can use the GG competition kit with the Apex trigger bar kit? I have both but took out the Apex trigger bar kit as I did not know if the GG kit could be used with anything other than the stock trigger bar. It would be nice if I could combine the two, but I know the Apex flat trigger would not work with my GG kit.

My only worry that with the change  in sear angle and lighter springs the change in geometry caused by the bar might cause the sear to release unexpectedly/too soon. I’ll probably start with using the heavier stock springs just to keep it engaged a little more solidly for the first test then try the lighter springs if all goes well (if needed.) Physically I’m sure it’ll fit fine as others have already mentioned doing it. In fact I think someone mentioned it actually increased pull weight a little over the grayguns trigger alone. I’m not sure if they were using just the pelt2 or the full kit though.

I got mine on Saturday and installed it that night. It def lightens the trigger. It does not take away as much pre-travel as the Apex trigger bar kit does. It would not work with the Apex flat trigger so I have to use the trigger that came with the kit. One negative is that even though the trigger is lighter, there does seem to be some "grittiness" as I am pulling the trigger. I don't know if I would call it creep as much as it feels like something is rubbing a little wrong. Will find out for sure when I try live fire.

I wonder if its the same issue I had with it being a little rough or some sort of notch/groove at the base of the sear. As I mentioned, taking a little of the sharp edge off the striker hook solved it for me.

Shot both of these yesterday. Can see the difference in how much the slide rubs. Design differences ofc. Just odd considering how large the barrel opening is on the 320 compared to the hk yet it rubs so much more still. Part if it may be just that its more visible on the sigs barrel finish but its the only thing I can find that might be preventing return to battery under light return.

I think I can ignore all that and think I know now where its coming from.

See the opening just in front of the upgraded drop safety notch? I think the safety is slipping into that a touch as the slide moves past it just before it reaches full return. You can see the wear on the edges of the hole. The amount of resistance it has passing that point also very closely matches the amount of force require to depress the safety riser.

  17. I recieved and installed my kit yesterday. It had a hangup and a audible click on initial press where the striker was snagging at the base of the sear engagement face. I took a fine stone lightly to the edge of the striker hook and softened it just a hair and it went away. I didnt have any trouble with the factory sear. It seems like when grayguns polished the sear face they just left a rough bit right at the very base. Otherwise its pretty nice. The sear angle looks to be just a hair more nuetral than factory and the face is highly polished. I’d done quite a bit of polishing on my factory sear so it was already pretty nice but the slight change in angle makes it a touch lighter. Overtravel is slightly improved thanks to the added overtravel stop and creep is reduced thanks to the polish on the sear but it didnt really do anything for pretravel distance so recommended or not I’ll probably still try adding the apex trigger bar.

You're welcome, that's exactly why I posted. Several others on the forums had issues in the past so I'm sure this time was no different.

I was one of them. I repeatedly signed up for the notification list but never recieved a notification. This time I got an email for the triggerless kit but still never anything for the regular kit.
