Hi, I’ve always appreciated the knowledge on this forum, so I hope no one minds a non-competition type question.
I’ve just bought a Glock 19x, and I’m looking around for threading options for a suppressor. This gun needs to be reliable with 147g hard cast lead ammo from Buffalo Bore, as I will use it for animal protection while hunting. It is not a comp gun. I do NOT reload, btw.
Usage: practice with FMJ mainly, but some practice with the BB. Odds are I’ll never use it in anger, but it’s gotta work in that case. I know about lead bullets and glocks, I’m not concerned.
Why a suppressor? Because without such, I lose hearing in my left ear even when doubling up outside. Docs are flummoxed, but it is not unheard of. (edit: I've just punned myself!)
Anyway, I would love to just buy a factory threaded Glock barrel and be done with it, but they don’t seem to come in 1/2x28 (or I can’t find them).
Or, I could use someone like Tornado Technologies to extend the barrel than comes with the gun. I've heard they're very good at this.
Could one buy a longer Glock barrel and have that cut down and threaded? My head spins a bit when searching for G19x compatibility (g34?).
What I DON’T want to do is buy a Jarvis or KMM and find that it won’t very very reliably load this ammo. See https://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_list&c=167
I’ve fired off an email to BB asking for their barrel recce, but what say you?
1) Cut down/thread a longer Glock barrel (which barrel fits?)
2) Tornado Tech the OEM
2) Find a generous tolerance threaded barrel (identical to OEM Glock, but who?)
