  1. For anyone else who ran into this issue here’s what I ended up with as an update I returned the USA30 for a centurion 24 Since I couldn’t bolt the safe to the floor I cut out 2 40” by 20” 3/4 ready board and bolted that to the safe The board both spreads out the weight and is wider than the doorway making it more of a hassle to remove it from the room The safe is also in a tight spot difficult to maneuver In the end I concluded the safe is only one piece of the security, there’s also cameras and an alarm system I can watch from my phone at anytime which immediately notifies me of any motion The police station is less than 1/8 mile away from me so that’s also a positive The USA30 was a very heavy safe for an apartment empty but I felt the centurion loaded weight and extra security will hopefully be enough Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I don’t think dropping to the liberty 24 will matter much, was thinking loaded weight If anything I’d be more inclined to the centurion Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Anyone have a large safe in an apartment? I recently purchased a liberty USA 30 thinking heavier is better with room to grow however @ 545 lbs empty I’m highly concerned it could damage the floor after a extended time I’m on the first floor but it’s not a concrete slab. I’m considering returning for either of these 2 models Champion M21 @ 490lbs Liberty centurion 24 @ 375lbs Quality is of high importance without concerns of damage, I do have cameras around my home that alert me of any motion in the home I do not want a cheap stack on 10lb cabinet Suggestions? Previous experience? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. 4.2 hp38 @ 1.050 was ideal for me Going to try 4.0 @ 1.035 next run and see if they still make PF Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. The gen 5 throats are ridiculously short My minds saying the 115gr bullets shorter so seating deeper will just have the same effect as seating 124gr a bit longer Ran up to 4.6gr @ 1.055 and didn’t see pressure signs but I set that as a bit hot for me as it avg 1204 from the 17 Cfe pistol I found a requirement to run near max..never tried unique Will going from 1.055 to 1.030 be a major jump in pressure? Quickload showed 28,000 to 29,500 psi jump 1.030 depth puts 0.25” of the bullet in the case..I also wonder if with a shorter bullet seating deeper may be ideal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. ACME 115gr 9mm RN bullets Length .530x .356 I ran a plunk test and determined I had to run a max of 1.058 to spin Doing a ladder work up I decided 4.2 grains was ideal for me @ 1115 avg from a Glock 17 Firing up the progressive I find 10-20 out of 100 don’t plunk until 1.040 Does anyone load THAT short? 1.030-1.040 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. For anyone looking Xtreme 124RN will pass a plunk test in the gen 5 @ 1.135 Possibly longer but I haven’t tested, those are my batch from the last run before I bought the G5 A thread with Bullet profile and plunk OAL may be helpful here Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I can’t seem to find anyone who offers barrel throating...any sources? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I’m getting the impression the short OAL is only with lead/coated Bullets Anyone having to load short with FMJ/plated? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. According to quickload the 147s are compressed @ 1.080 with 3 gr 2.8 barely cycled and 3.1 showed 37,000psi Way to pressure sensitive for me to mess with Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Blue bullet 147RN had to go 1.080 H&S 124RN 1.090 Gen 5 Glock 17 I’m considering throating the barrel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Had an order of 124rn H&S Bullets come in today Man these gen 5s have a short throat The 124s did not pass plunk test till 1.100 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. BB is only an hour away from me so I receive them in a day or so via mail I will check out black bullets again though I think I’ll just go back to 124RN as they always load and shoot great for me Thanks for the tip and if anyone else knows some cheaper alternatives I’m all ears Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. 57k Good advise I always load for my shortest chambered gun so I know they’ll all run, oddly enough it’s now the gen 5s My gen 4 19 did plunk @ 1.130 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I absolutely agree, I won’t purchase anymore 147s as I think these are playing with fire and will be going back to 124gr after this box My go to has always been 4gr of TG over 124rn @ 1.135, wanted to see if I was missing anything with 147s I’m just trying to find a safe load to burn through this 1,000 box Just to recap 2.5 did not cycle in m&p 800fps in G17 2.8 did cycle m&p and Glock lock back on last round *have not chroned My next outing will be with 2.7 Quickload shows safe with a max of 3gr Lyman shows 2.5-2.8 @ 1.058 with a max velocity of 943 I think I’m playing safe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Gen 3 has a longer throat than the gen 5 I did run some 2.8gr titegroup over the weekend that cycled much better but didn’t get a chance to chrono I received a reply back from blue Bullets stating the 1.090 OAL is common with the 147RN 3.0gr of win 231 also barley cycled Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. 3.2 @1.140 would only chamber in the P320 compact Ran around 940 I’m going to try some 2.8s and see how that goes.. being very cautious at that depth with titegroup May even switch to win231 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Chronographed from a gen 5 Glock 17 Titegroup 2.5gr Blue bullet 147 RN 1.090 OAL 775-804fps Did not cycle in an m&p 5” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I’m not sure how crimp effects the bullet hitting the rifling but I made up some 2.5gr titegroup @ 1.090 Will test and chrono tomorrow It’s the only load I found Lyman and quickload agreed was safe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Bullets measured...seem in spec .355 around .369 length Marked a loaded round @ 1.143 with a paint pen and the bullet is hitting the rifling .134 past the end of the case A quick search shows the GEN 5 has a shorter throat than previous glocks,so that would answer the previous questions about why so short Lyman 147 lead load data 1.058 Titegroup 2.5-2.8 There bullet is .682 OAL I just don’t know if it’s safe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. This is just a ballpark to start with but I thought the seating depth was not supposed to exceed .300? I may load some 2.8 and 3.0 and see what the chrono says but @ that depth I think it’s asking for problems Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. My original target OAL was 1.135 however the case was noticeably sticking out All guns tested are factory barrels Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Flare to .380 to protect the coating Crimp to .376-.378, anything more indented the coating upon pulls Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I had a box of 147gr RN blue Bullets come in today In order to pass the plunk test I’m having to seat at 1.090 or shorter Punching in the numbers on quickload shows I’ll have to load 2.8gr of titegroup to make power factor and 3.0 is 3,000psi over max Anyone have any suggestions? Tried the plunk test on M&P 2.0 Glock26 Glock 19 Glock 17 All needed a very short OAL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
