  1. Take a sized case and put a bullet a little way in the case.

Put it in the chamber and allow the slide to close all the way

Eject the round carefully and measure the OAL.

Then size the new rounds 0.10 shorter

I had the same problem when switching to coated with a different profile and they were touching the lands and grooves.

  2. I am going to stone and polish S&W 617 and install the Apex Mass Hammer. I have seen old posts that say 6.5 or so reliable trigger pull.

I am wondering if that is with the stock spring or a Wolff reduced power?

Also which rebound spring? The 11 lb one in the kit or lighter?

    Thanks in advance

  3. What distance would you shoot at to check grouping accuracy of different diameter bullets?

I tried 3 different diameters same bullet weight powder charge and manufacturer and shot them at a distance of 50 feet.

It looked like I was getting the best group with 1 of them but slightly better.

I wonder if that is too far that human error is a factor because I was using sand bags and not a fixed rest.

  4. I broke out my S&W 610 to shoot revolver in USPSA competition, as I haven't shot revolver in years.

I am curious as to what cylinder modifications can be done or what should be more closely checked for smoother reloads.

I have heard, since this is a moon clip revolver that you can aggressively chamfer the cylinders....how much and at what angle?

will honing the cylinders help as we;;?

Thanks in advance for the suggestions
