RP9 mags are based off the P18.9 magazine so the ones on the TF sight will work on both. I don't think he has a separate listing for RP9. I'm currently using Dawson basepads for Para on my RP9 mags. Keep in mind though using this combination, including the TF basepads wil bring you over legal mag length as the RP9 mag tubes are pretty long.

That's why I linked to the product.  The description says it extends RP9 magazines to 140mm.

Not sure of the relation to my question. The reason I asked is that I spoke with Taylor Freelance today and found that the mag bases he will be making is for the “factory “ magazine that came with the gun So I’m trying to figure out if they will also work on the RP9 magazine.

They should work, but will be longer than 140mm.

They were on sale recently on Palmetto. I can’t say if they still are now. This was about a month and a half ago.

Must have missed it.  $15 at Palmetto and $16 at Buds currently.  I agree with user that said the finish is a bit rough, but for a you can't beat the deal for something that works.  Too bad Dawson quit on the basepads.

Yes I agree it would have, I’ve had the majority of the mags for a while now with the exception of the RP9 mags that I just got recently. MBX at the time did not exist. I’ve had the Para for a long time now. Finding 9mm mags was tough, that’s the reason I modified he 38super mags to work. They still work fine but for $12 each for the RP9 mags it was a no brainer.

With the 40 mags I bought the mecgars not knowing any better, the RIA mags on a gamble they would be longer. Then the STI mags. I could have stopped there but purchased the Greg cote mags because I had an extra set of Dawson pads just sitting there.

It was a good/expensive learning experience and eventually traded away the first set of mecgars.

Where you getting RP9 mags for $12?

Cheaper than dirt has some for $34

Those are the 18 round mags with plastic base.  The part number is different. 17795 vs. 17794 for the correct part.

They are available as low as $25, but the basepads is more likely not to work in the magwell.  If you don't have a magwell, you are better off with the $15 RP9 mag.

There is an 18 round mag for $30-40.  I am thinking of buying one to test the theory.

The best price I can find in stock is around $45.  The 4 or 5 places that have the are all listing 20 in stock.  If I knew which distributor they are using, I might be able to buy them for a bit less.  I think the baseplates might clear the stock RI magwell.

Other than the basepads, those A2 mags don't look any different than the RP9 mags.  Also the fact that they've stated that their double stack 1911 mags will fit Para's makes me believe they are the same mag as well.

I'm fairly certain they are the same as well.

I hit the range Saturday for some more testing of the Remington magazines.  I was using Winchester steel cased, since I didn't feel like chasing brass.  A couple of the magazines didn't cycle the last round, the slide locked back with one round in them.  The cartridge was about haflway out of the magazine.  I'm blaming the steel cases on this.

I'm going to modify the follower on one of RP9 magazines to try and correct the last round feeding.  I'll post the results, put I'm not going to be able to get to the range for a couple of days.

These fit and work with the magwell on my Armscor.  The magazine bodies on the Remington magazines are longer than the body of the magazine that came with my gun.

Do Dawson extended floorplates for Para mags fit the RP9 magazines?  I have the magazines, but all my floorplates are STI.

These are on sale now, $14.99 each.  I just ordered 3 for my 51947.  Looking for a holster now.

I bought 5 and they are excellent.  If somebody could try out different basepads on them I'd be real curious as to the results.

If I loaded it to capacity, 20 rounds, I'd get 4-6 rounds off and then start having FTE's and/or double feeds.  It cycled factory ammo and my reloads that are tuned for my G34 fine though.  I need to get the Arredondo follower and try that out with the extended spring that I already have that didn't fit with the factory follower.

Does yours have a ramped barrel?

  12. Just found out that my example of the TCM Target will accept unmodified STI mags.  They all fit and drop free.  If it was just a little more accurate with the 9mm barrel it would be a great gun.  That and it only feeds certain pointy FMJ's.

That leaves me in a tough spot.  Should l accept it's limitations, or send it down the road?  Would calling Armscor be justified?

  13. A stronger recoil spring has improved feeding in my unramped Target model, at least with pointy FMJ's.  A 12lb spring fed 100% from all 5 Remington mags with exception of locking back on the last round.  That is just the follower.

The 12lb spring is a bit too much for light loads.  Brass trickled out and more than once landed on my hand.  The 10lb spring didn't eliminate my failures to return to battery.  I will have to order an 11lb spring.

  14. I can't argue that some coaching would be beneficial.  No doubt that heavier guns with better triggers help minimize shooter errors, but they do that for everyone.

Likewise, everyone has an alliby they like to use.  I know that the guns being hard to shoot because it doesn't fit well is pretty common excuse,

but the only place my hands would be normal would be the NBA.

How much mag hangs out with the baseplate removed?  Or, how about a pic of the rear of the mag inserted.

More than a quarter of an inch.  I have a couple of pictures.  Maybe I can get them small enough to post after I get home from work.

  16. Remington RP9 mags work great!  Better than the factory magazine.  With the plastic baseplates it fits in my Target model like it was made for it.  I can't speak for the factory magwell guns, but the magazine body is about 5mm longer than the RIA factory magazine.
