  1. Yeah it feels like nerf gun haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yeah i should probably give them a call next week and see what their thoughts are.
  3. Yeah i think i am going to go that route. Other than that i am loving the pistol. It is a a very very soft shooter.
  4. Ran some 147s through it but they were subsonics as well as some 124s. It seemed it was constantly shooting low. I have heard about some of the older ones having that issue but i havent had anyone confirm.
  5. I recently purchased one of the earlier Costa Carry Comp pistols. Took it to the range. Fit and finish was great. Was short stroking with Federal 115 RTP ammo until i oiled it down. Love the pistol. My only concern is it seems to shoot quite a bit lower than one would expect. Anyone else having this issue. I was thinking about just switching the front sights or should i send it back to STI?
  6. I am sure this is going to get addictivly fun and my 2011 collection is going to be a thing of pride to some and shame to others haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I didn't serve. My dad got me into military vehicle collecting. We are history nerds. But I shoot a desert tech srs a1 and the buddies shoot quite a few custom 700s defiance and bergarra's Continuing rabbit holes to go down that are very costly to find the bottom haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I have a pallet full of lead and a master caster so it will get put to work here pretty soon! this one is in 9 and i will see if this virus takes hold as hard as the bolt guns did! i mean the ammo is alot cheaper and easier to load but you shoot WAY more rounds. Now i need to get to learning comp rules and all the other stuff thats way over my head
  9. i need to see if there are any matches in the west texas area where i am located currently. The work schedule isnt very conducive to getting out to shoot much but now that i will be moving towards odessa i might be able to get out more. Will need to get my press to work when i get home though. Anyone have issues shooting Hi-tek coated cast boolits?
  10. if i end up making it back to colorado for the 4th i will snag it up and pour the ammo to it. The thing i dont really know yet is if i will be able to get it before august. i would really like to get to shoot the thing first i agree but if i am 12 weeks from getting to touch it might try and use the time at a smith to continue to pour money to it haha
  11. BAHAHA that sounds about right. bolt guns are the same way but the mirage down here is so bad i got bit by the pistol bug
  12. Very nice! i can tell this 2011 bug is going to get pricey!
  13. Thanks! ill give him a call and see if i dont just send it his way first and get another top end fitted up
  14. After renting a costa carry comp i like the idea of a compensated island site but i would like some of the slide lightening of the once i purchased. I just want to find a good smith who could match the color and do it up like burger king (have it your way) haha. I have taken alot of "buy once cry once" and "buy nice or buy twice" mentality after that odeal with the hornady ammo plant.
  15. Fine folks of the Enos forum. So i just purchased myself my first 2011 off of the forum. Do to work circumstances i will not be able to make it home to pick it up from my FFL for a few months. my question to you fine folks is this. Since i purchased the weapon can i get some recomendations on folks to possibly fit multiple barrels to it or is it easier to just get another top end. I plan on primarily shooting 9 and have no issues loading major if need be. Have a 1050 a 650 as well as an AP back home. I am excited to get this weapon in my hands but i wont be back to CO until late july or august. Any smiths recomendations on getting another top end built with 6-8 week lead times? If this sounds crazy please let me know. I am just a bolt gun nerd who picked up a 2011 and got addicted. This was the 2011 i just purchased and i cant wait to get my hands on it! i can tell this rabbit hole will go nearly as deep as my long gun and reloading equipment holes but in this world i have learned good stuff cost money! Thanks from a noobie!
  16. One thing i would like to know, if i go with the tactical over the host will the bull barrel make it pickier on ammo if i need to buy off the shelf ammo? Once i get done down here i could load 9mm as fast as i could pull the handle with the 1050...
  17. i have a 650 a 1050 and an AP back in Colorado. Next time i am home i could work and load up and have my buddies stamp out the ammo for me (price of borrowing all my reloading stuff). I was liking the lightened slide of the DVC tactical but i wish it had the premilled slide. I am scared the finish will be ruined if i send the dvc tactical under the mill. I think i am going to go with the tactical and if the 2011 bug sticks i will probably do what i always seem to do..... Dive in head first and wonder why my wallet feels so light! Since high end bolt guns NFA and ww2 vehicles arent expensive enough hobbies as it is. Might as well add high end pistols to the bunch. But like they say there are only 3 types of guns to buy. 1) nice guns 2) old guns & 3) nice old guns!
  18. Gentlemen, I picked up a 2011 for the first time out of curiosity..... NOW I AM HOOKED. If they were priced like glocks i would just buy both... but they arent so i have to start with one.... My question to you folks is i am between a DVC open or steel depending if i want to use it to compete but the work schedule isnt conducive to competitions or located anywhere near anything.... (jobsite is 60 miles from nowhere) I like the idea of the HOST but my FNX 45 doesnt even host anything yet. The 9mm major could prove problematic until i get home near my reloading equip. So do i go with the HOST and get a can in jail or just rock some hearing protection and shoot the Steel or open. Will be mostly used when able to set up a run and gun course of fire. wondering if anyone here has used both who could give me so pros and cons. Thanks alot!
  19. Hello folks! come from a bolt gun and NFA background. recently moved to Texas for work and the mirage is so bad my bolt gun stays home most of the time. I got my hands on a 2011 at a local gun store and i was hooked (now in the market). Here to learn and make a more informed decision before i start throwing money at stuff.
