Can anyone else report that the optic glass gets dirty quickly on the new X5 Legion due to the LCI and cut? If it gets very dirty after 100 rounds that means I will have to clean it quite often on live fire practice day.

I have not shot my Legion yet so cannot comment but I wonder how we can compare the two meaningfully. I personally do not think the existence of the notch is significant. It is pretty much blocked by the brass until the brass gets ejected and once the brass is gone, the mouth/ chamber is wide open. There might be some leak through the notch but I do not think it is significant enough to make a quantitative difference within the duration of slide cycling. Just my thought.

That explains all the black crap that accumulated on my DPP glass on the legion. Had to scrub for a while to get it out. Never happened with my older X5s. About 3k through my legion so far.

  2. Has this happened to anyone? Screw above extractor spring that mounts the rear sight plate seemed to have loosen. Head of extractor pin is now blocked by loosened screw. The extractor spring still has enough clearance to move but when trying to pull the whole pin/spring out, the metal piece in the front that sits behind the extractor will get stuck when the front of the pin reaches the rear sight plate screw. I have a springer mounting plate on top with a Leupold DPP. If anyone can help, would be much appreciated.

Jeff is correct, you will need to get the 10 or 17 round mags. You will also want the .25" base if you are shooting IDPA so that it will fit in the box (6" tall is the restriction IIRC). Depending on how you have your sights adjusted the .25" base pad allows you to just BARELY fit in the box.

Im not familiar with USPSA size restrictions but Im sure someone else can post up for you.

.375" w/full size compliant 10rnd or 17rnd mags will be optimal to run with the magwell in ESP. I checked in multiple IDPA club boxes with my rear sight jacked all the way up and it fits. Just make sure you choose the correct square or round retainer plate tab and also select X5 magwell.

In case it helps I shoot 147 grain bullets at around 132 power factor and Ive been between the 14 and the 13# springs.; I prefer the 14. Just out of curiosity today I shot at least 50 rounds with a 12# spring with no issues.

Am I the only one crazy running an 11lb spring? Gun is broken in and has a few thousand rounds through it. Only shot about 300 rounds in the 11lb spring training and a USPSA match. 0 malfunctions. Tried 14 and still thought it was oversprung, same with 13#. Just hope the slide isn't battering the frame. Shoots very flat. Using freedom 124gr. Their power factor is in the 130+ for the most part.

The slide release is not functional left handed. I can operate it right handed easily but I cannot drop the slide left handed once it locks back due to the design of the slide release. Other than that it's a great gun, that is my only gripe so far.

I'm lefty. After time it seems like it breaks in and gets easier. To help, I break my grip to hit the mag release then quickly place my thumb on the slide lock lever. Then insert the mag fairly hard to use that inertia to force

the slide release against my thumb at the same time pressing on the slide release since it's already there. Takes little effort with your thumb when doing that. Works like a charm but takes dry fire practice to burn it in your head to do it naturally lol.

I also just ordered a guid rod and 14# spring from springer. Both Scott and Alma recommended I go with 14.

Was that recommendation for a specific load? Or factory loads?

Ordered a steel guide rod and 14 lb spring tonight from Scott at Springer. The tungsten rods are still a month away.

Was about to do the same but have no idea which spring to get. Do you know how many lbs the weight of the stock spring is? Or which 1911 spring weight is closest to the function of the stock spring/guide rod? That way I know which springs are lighter.

  8. Same here haha. I know a few ppl that have done it. If not, springer precision has adapters and you can go Deltapoint Pro or something.

When I first got my X5, my minor loads wouldn't eject.   Today I fired 50 rounds of major loads, then tried my minor loads again.   This time, the cases ejected, but the slide wouldn't lock back.   Do I just need to put more major rounds through it?   The slide locks back fine with my major loads.

Be careful shooting your lighter loads if the gun isn't broken in. I got a kaboom followed by consecutive stove pipes and misfeeds. I sent mine back to Sig. They said they did a courtesy relief of the pretension and sent it back. Only shot a few mags but it seems fine now. If you notice when the slide is slightly out of battery and you press the trigger, it forces the slide closed and feels like an engaged trigger. I think that's how I got my kaboom. Maybe the striker hits the primer and ignites a split second before the round is completely in the chamber. You can see where some of the gasses busted out the side towards the rear of my spent casing.  Thankfully no damage was done to the gun or my face/hand. Just some shockwave to my face lol.

  10. Anyone know what the bolt pattern for mounting an optic on it is? Are there any adapters to put other glass on it?

Doesn't fit DAA magnetic insert for full size P320, too loose side to side. DAA said they won't have inserts available for racemaster or alphaX holster until they are able to get a P320 X5 from Sig sent to Holland.

It does not fit Bladetech holsters. You can heat it all you want but the trigger guard will not lock into the holster. It will fit and lock into the Comp-tac holster.  Cranking down the tension screws on the Bladetech did nothing to secure it any better. It would not be suitable for competition due to the fact it would fall ,out easily.

The short time I got to try out Masons shows it's a winner. They are shipping and have been for a few days, First batch went to those on the waiting list. locally here.

I emailed Bladetech if they can make one and they said 3-4 day lead time.

The lockup is supposed to be tighter on this gun so it might need another bit of break in. I haven't seen other reports like that yet but will let you know what I experience.

Yea. I want to keep it and try to break it in but I can't possibly shoot the gun when after every round I have to check to see if the slide made it in to battery. For the striker to be able to hit the primer when out of battery also seems like a safety issue. I will see what Sig says.

  13. Kaboom from my X5. 20 rounds, 9 stovepipes, 1 kaboom, 1 Failure to feed nose high. Anyone that has one have any problems? Is your lockup extremely tight like mine? Factory works fine, soft shooting loads not enough to cycle the gun properly. At least the first day which was only 20 rounds. Put another 20 through of various loads and worked.  It risking though, calling Sig tomorrow.

  14. This should give you more hope, Sig Pro Shop just called me today asking for payment of an X5 that is ready to ship. Got an email right back with FedEx tracking, ETA Thursday 4/13. And I'm a nobody so they should start showing up everywhere else soon. Lol.
