  1. I tried 147 campros with my x5. Terrible accuracy. Switch to 124 and was much better. Loaded with TG. I had heard similar stories that the 320 preferred lighter. I prefer the 147 myself. Glad to hear yours can eat them up.

I have one it’s pretty good overall. Only issue was that I had to trim the screws that attached the hanger to belt. Other than that it’s a great holster for the money.

    Nice. Alright ya the picture

even shows those screws insanely long. How’s the rigidity of that hanger

  3. I had same problem on new shadow 2 where the ledge that has threads for grip panel is sharp and hung past where the magazine guide was.  It made a big difference just bending that guide out a touch to force the mag foreword while it was being inserted. They still drop free. Oddly enough my older shadow runs the magazines fine. They are all mecgar 16 rounders.

  4. With one shadow 2 I had a cgw 13 pound main and ext. Firing pin. It was 100% reliable for Ginex and CCI primers.

picked up a new shadow and put the Eemanntech ultimate spring kit in it. With their ultimate trigger. And she sets off Ginex no problem. The main spring is 9 pounds.

I was surprised how great its worked.

  5. What’s your powder you run ?

I've been shooting Campro 147gr bullets for more than a decade, they are a sort of flat point, with a rounded edge. Accuracy has always been superb out of all my Shadows and Shadow 2s and even my P10 and Glocks (19, 17, 17 and 48)

Using one of my matched pair, prior to swapping in an Eemanntech match bushing, off hand I kept them all in the 9 ring on a B8 at 25m demoing at class a few months ago. best group I've shot in years due to eye issues that are now mostly resolved. Group was spectacular, and I can't imagine shooting any better than that.

I have one but use a Tanfoglio. Your pistol fits in my hydra P holster. The upside is that the pistol is locked into the holster. Downside for me is when it’s in the holster you can move the pistol an inch or so front to back. I was hoping that the locking would be as secure as my DAA Race holster. It isn’t. It is production/Carry optics legal so that’s another plus.

You run the regular hydra on the tanfoglio? That tanfo would be close enough. If that locking mechanism failed would the bottom portion keep that pistol in place? Or would it just tumble out?

Personally I’d keep my kydex over the hydra p. But a full race holster is appealing however I always think they don’t look secure. But the Hydra maybe is more so?

  7. Any first hand experience on the hydra holster and a shadow 2? What I’m after is if the trigger guard latch failed or was not properly secured would the bottom portion of that holster keep the gun in place? Or would it just simply fall top forward and flip out? The Hydra P would obviously keep the firearm in the bucket but I’m talking just the regular hydra. I don’t shoot USPSA so the coverage don’t concern me. A open gun seems to remain secure do to length but production type guns are

pretty flush with the bottom. Those screws sound like the only serve to take up any wiggle but I haven’t handled this holster. Just looking for feedback on this type of rig.

Dont really get what you are asking about full length vs normal length zipper. Any coat I have seen has the normal zipper that goes the full length.

ya bad explanation on my part. Most extra length coats are the same width right to the bottom. But this hangs up on your belt mags and holster. Or won’t fit over them when it’s done up. Obviously a regular jacket will settle above your gear or be too tight to get over it when it’s done up as well.  Atomic made a long coat with a regular length zipper. Then that bottom portion just lightly hangs over your rig while the zipper is done up. Keeps all your gear dry. No dust, snow or weather settles on it.

sitka had a kodiak coat same idea. But both are no longer made and have limited sizes if you can find one. I need large.

pretty much need a tactical style  cowboy rain slicker with a hood. Running a extra large rain jacket I could cover my gear but it’s too bulky IMO

Perhaps I’m dreaming here but dang if you gotta compete in crappy weather this would be the “slickest”. no?

Figured maybe some had the same idea or a product I’m not aware of.

the weather in southern Alberta is as wild and unpredictable as a feral horse.

  9.  I’m on the hunt for a waterproof windproof coat. However I’d really like to find one that is a bit longer to cover my belt, mags and gear. Seems everything is full length zipper though. Has anyone found a coat that flares out a bit and has a normal length zipper but is extended in length to about the thighs?
what does everyone ware outside of a poncho for windy rainy days?

I have a Lee APP on order right now, and will be using this to bulk decap pistol brass.  Can you please provide details on how you connected the Dillon case feeder to the Lee APP.  Specs on the blue tube shown (OD/ID if possible), and if any adapters were needed to connect it to the APP.  Any details would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!!!

edit:  Found a video with the explanation.  Don't know if this is yours or not, but it's enough to get me to where I need to be.  Thanks.   https://i.imgur.com/3aPx6MB.mp4

That is me. I used just a length of 1/2” blue pex. Heated the end that goes to the case feeder a bit to add a flare. The OD of the pipe is right so it snaps into place on the case feeder clamp. Used some heat to add a slight S curve down to the APP and just cut a 2” section from the lee app case tube that fits inside both pex and adapter on press to hold it all together  BMGoXX4.jpg

One drill I always come back to is “designated target” by Ben Stoeger. I usually one piece of steel as my designated target, and 3 other targets at varying distances. I have my designated target one far side of the range and then targets spread all the way to the other side of the range, usually about a 120° angle between the farthest targets. Start with shooting the steel, then the first paper, then stew, second paper, steel, third paper, and finish on steel. This works transitions, throttle control, and accuracy for me (I usually use a mini popper at ~15 yards for designated target). I also get feedback from everyone I practice with that it is one their favorite drills also.

That really sounds like a solid drill right there.

  12. Had the same issue with a 750 I bought. Had binding on the rod and the plastic bushing. I figured that plastic would be chewed though in no time. On mine I tweaked the z bend that goes through the powder bar return linkage. Slight bend to bring it closer to 2 90 Degree bends. Then That rod could hang there and line up with the bushing retainer, where as before it would have to be forced to be inline. Works mint now!

The picture shows rod pre bent and how it would have to stay. The last is After I bent it a bit more it would lay straight vertical

Drills are tools to fix problems.  What are your problems.

Certainly a few. The worst I’ve noticed is not maintaining  proper grip and lock up after reloads. Left elbow gets chicken wingy. But overall I can improve on everything. Figured there would be a hand full of drills that folks always return to or had found to really highlight faults. There are a million drills out there. I try to research ones that are mentioned often and give them a whirl but 20-30 rounds on drills here and there help but if there are ones that had really stood out or seems

to provide something more. It’s possible it applies to more people than just yourself. Perhaps. Or perhaps I’m nuts and have to figure out where i suck the most. And maximize my efforts on that.

looking back on this I should mention I shoot production optics.

everyone has there own weakness so it’s pretty dang dynamic but I’m hoping there are a few other drills outside of el prez and bill that have helped more so,  or are frequently used. Then I can focus on some of those and layout weekly plan. as a post Covid, world war brink,  reloading component shortage, smish smortion has put a damper on the throw the ammo down range and see where it leads me. Kinda sorta of a thing.

  14. More of a open question. You are correct. A guy that can shoot a skid of ammo likely has a different opinion than 100 rounds a week. I’m looking for a handful of drills that shooters really seen personal improvement or that stood/stand out. Draw, accuracy or reloads. The classics like the bill drill always seem to mentioned but perhaps there are a few lesser known. As for overall improvement I suppose again different for divisions and classes but am open to hearing them all as they likely cross over.

I personally am a new shooter. Dry fire for 20-30 mins 4 times a week. Winter provides a indoor match once a week and spring will have two. Practice roughly 200 rounds a week plus the 60-70 we shoot at the local League.

im trying to maximize my live fire practice time and some drills that always stay in the loop for

you guys are ones that likely will improve me. Or drills that people have worked on for some time To master are worth my attention  to try and see how it potentially can improve me.

As components become more expensive and harder to find id like to maximize my few hundred rounds a week. I have Stogers dry fire drills and conform my times with live ammo but I’m interested to hear some First hand accounts of particular live fire drills that you guys felt like really built some Skills or showed faults.

  15. Looking to hear which live fire drills brought the best return for overall improvement. Is there any drills that you always return to? Or which ones did you find really made you improve as a uspsa/ipsc shooter?
