  1. I just got the Bul 1911 Classic and will be putting in some quality non MIMed parts.  Wanted the Trophy Classic but OOS everywhere.  Only issue is the Classic doesn't have adjustable rear sight so that maybe a no go for some.  The Trophy Classic is about $700-$800 more.  I figure after the upgrades the cost will be close between the two.  Maybe another option to look into if you like tinkering and upgrading.

How rough is the inside of your buffer tube?

I've got the same setup in 4 rifles and I've never experienced any rattling.

It's smooth from what I can tell.  The rattling happens when the bolt hits the breach and the buffer slams into the buffer detent not during the cycling if that makes sense?

OK, the slide came back from Fabricated Arms today and the 407K mounted nicely.    Turn around was only one week and the machining is good.

Thanks for the update!  Will look into FA when I'm ready to mill out my slide.  Enjoy your new optic!

I received my 407K from Midway about a week ago.  I've had my name on their "Notify Me" list for a couple of months and I was at my computer one recent evening when e-mails stating they had both the 407K and 507K in stock arrived.  I jumped on it IMMEDIATELY and placed an order for the 407K.  The order was accepted and the sight was delivered about a week later.

It is really small but the dot is plenty bright and clear.

The slide from my Sig P365 is now out to be machined for this sight and I'm eager to put the two together and get the combination to the range.

I give Midway credit for maintaining their published price and having free shipping despite the scarcity of these sights.  Several dealers charge inflated prices for the ones they can get.

Let us know how your P365 slide turns out with the 407k.  I'm thinking about getting mine milled out as well.

  5. I had the same issue with my G17 it turned out to be the slide stop/release spring.  I bent the spring out to have more tension and it fixed it.  Give it a shot before you buy a new one.

  6. Being in California I have a lot of Gen 3s and a few Gen 5s.  I actually like the feel of the Gen 3s better with the finger grooves and blockier grips.  All other things are not as important to me because I modify all my Glocks anyways (trigger, Magwell, grips, slide, etc..).  If I were to compare them stock, the Gen 5s have a slightly better trigger.  If you're a lefty go with Gen 5s for the ambi slide release and ability to swap mag release.

  7. I wanted an OZ9 but after hearing all the issues think I'm staying away.  Have a few Zev slides using their internals on a few Glocks, never had any issues.  Disappointing for a $1500+ pistol with the Zev brand.

Just remember... asking price and selling price are two separate things.

Just picked up a brand new Gen5 G34 for $610 out the door, thanks to my GSSF certificate.

Once I finish up the .40 ammo I've got... it'll be time to put the Gen4 G22 up for sale.

It'll be interesting to see what the market will bear come that point!

Congrats, you got a great deal and a rare exception.  I'm sure your gen4 will fetch a good price.
