I'm considering something more discrete like this UTG sling pack but not sure I like sling idea vs back back style but I'm sure 90% of the time I'd carry it using the side handles.

Is the Athlon Midas 1-6x outside of the "budget" definition at$520? I'm considering it. Abital has a nice affordable 1-8x which is similar to the Primary Arms scope and under $400.

I really like the Burris XTR II scope line. I have a nee 1-5x for sale only because I decided to go with a lighter setup. SWFA has a DFP Burris 1-8x on their site but I don't see the model in the Burris catalog but if it comes out that would offer daylight bright FFP 1-8x scope.
Vortex is realeasing a new 1-8 at the NRA convention soon, not sure if it will have a FFP option or not but there is a leaked reticle pic that is out there.

I read on another forum, so might not be true, that they use the same manufacturer that PA uses and they species better glass. I haven't seen anything about the glass comment to back that up. I like the reticle and that is the lightest 1-8x I've seen. I don't know anyone with one but looking forward to seeing more feedback.

I know Vortex went away with FFP scopes but anyone think that option may be on the table for the new 1-8x?

Amazon used to sell one similar to that as well. but as others have stated it the holes face up to counter the muzzle rise.

I have a faxon barrel as well, just over 1lb is very helpful at shredding weight. The MFT minimalist stock is light too, I think Spike makes another light stock. I also have the Taccom buffer which really reduces buffer weight. I'm looking to sell my new Burris XTR II 1-5x to get a lighter scope, looking at the Leupold VX-6 now.

I thought I wanted a 1-6x FFP scope and was looking at the Eotech Vudu but it is a bit heavy. I actually bought a Burris XTR-II 1-5x and have it for sale (haven't even used it but opened it to see how bright it is) because for me it is a little too heavy. I'm looking at the VX-6 with CMR2 reticle or the Athlon Midas with the BDC reticle which is new for this year. I've ready mized reviews about how bright both are, anyone have first hand experience?

That is the first I've heard of trigger tech. It looks nice, I have a 2-stage LaRue trigger in mine but have not shot competitively with it.

Do you know any of the dimensions for the Midwest rail. If you can't find dimensions on Surac's website I know Superlative Arms does, they are a shared design but I'm not sure the dims are 100% the same. My Superlative Arms kit arrived this past weekend.

That's a pretty good price on the Blackhawk bag. I personally can't justify something more expensive right now. Any thing you don't like about it?

Thanks for the update. I'll have to wait a little longer mine. I'm trying to sell my new Burris XTR II 1-5x for one of these unless I find a great deal for a Leupold VX-6.
