  1. Thanks for the reply's for the time being I will just keep loading and see what happens.
  2. I did a quick search and could not find an answer to the following. I'm using a 550b with Dillon dies to load 9mm using Berry 147 grain RN bullets. When I seat the bullet the bullet seating insert uses the nose of the bullet rather then the ogive to seat the bullet. When it uses the nose it deforms the nose and leaves a little dot, for lack of better term. This dot is coming from a hole on the seating insert. I checked and have it installed for RN bullets. I'm new to the Dillon press and dies (but not reloading) do I have something set up incorrectly? Or should I look at a different brand of die for bullet seating?
  3. I've only had my 550 for a couple weeks. I sold my two Pro-1000 presses. Wish I would have just gone with the 550 to start the quality of the press and rounds off in my short time is amazing. This press will certainly get me shooting more because loading is so much more enjoyable.
  4. Thanks to everyone who replied. When I read Grumpy's response I gave myself a face palm. I will readjust. By the way this press is awsome. I wish I would have bought this 6 years ago rather than the ones I just sold. Oh well, had to start somewhere, because of my original press I really appreciate my new Dillon!
  5. I have been reloading for about 6 years so I have some experience, not an expert and always learning. I just purchased and set up my 550b. I did a test run of 9mm and 45 ACP. On both runs, I had the OAL set exactly wher I wanted it, when seating bullet with one case in press. When I went to "production" of my test 10 cartridges each the OAL came out a few thousands long. I ran the rounds back through the seating die one at a time and the OAL came out perfect. Is it a known set up issue to have the OAL grow with more than one case in the press? Also, are you using the Dillon lock rings or something different? Thanks.
