  2. I had Jayson at LOK grips whip these up for me, they are his new "thin" grips but cut for use on a CZ 75 with a magwell. The magwell is from CZ Custom and had a local Cerakote them. Jayson is fantastic to work with, so if you need anything custom from him I highly recommend it. These are extremely aggressive and just what I have been looking for.

  3. I'm pretty sure that's the IPSC list that was quoted as IDPA doesn't have a gun list and the division is called Stock Service Pistol.

You are correct I pulled up IDPA and ended up looking at the IPSC production list...sorry my mistake thought I was being helpful. It appears there is no actual list just a list of criteria it must meet and weight limits and must fit in a box of certain dimensions.

  5. Yes I shoot at Rio every Tues and most weekends.  Payson too.  And, surprisingly enough, I got an email today stating the Shadow was ready.  I will be picking it up Monday.

Sweet that was fast turn around...congrats let's see some pictures of that bad boy when you get it [emoji1303]

  6. Stewart took my order and said it would be a couple weeks.  I am waiting impatiently, but I've been shooting my current 75 Shadow for a couple years now and it serves me well.

I wasn't trying to poo poo the orange.  I was seriously considering it.  But, when I weighed it all out, for the money I did not see me benefitting from the orange.

Where do you shoot? Rio Saldo? I want to try USPSA but may be a few more months before I can get out.

  7. I looked at (handled ) all 3 pistols mentioned by the OP at CZ Custom last week.  I also brought my well used 75 shadow to compare to.  I chose to order an SP01 shadow custom 2014.  The orange is nice.  It is very tight.  For me, shooting USPSA, whatever accuracy gain given by the orange or accu-shadow would not really be noticed while running and gunning.  A standard SP01 can print very respectable groups at 25 yards with a good load.  For my money, the trigger on the Shadow custom 2014 is way better than the orange. To get the same trigger on the orange would add another 250-300 to the price.  Respringing the orange with an extended FP still won't come close to the trigger job CZC puts on the shadow custom.  YMMV.

You are probably right it will be more accurate than I will ever be. They didn't have any of the 2014 in stock otherwise I would have considered it I wanted a gun that day.

I may eventually get the short reset, polishing and extended firing pin but you are correct it does comes at an additional price.

I am still happy with it and can upgrade as required.

When are you getting your new pistol?

  9. Congrats! Yeah they are nice looking. You may decide you dont need short reset once you shoot it. I personally dont think it needs it. Let me know how you like it

Finally got out a shot it today it is way more accurate than me photo below was at 25 yards slow fire and I had to wear my reading glasses to see front sight so I think I did very good52885bc0c5592dfc9f39c0ecb1ce58c4.jpg

Photo below was at 7 yards

I think shooting it for the first time I did pretty darn good now to continue practicing to improve my skills.

  10. Nickel slides out nicely, and doesn't wear like the regular mags.

I prefer the Springer Precision pads over the ShockBottle.

The ShockBottle is 2nd from right (on nickel mag), and SP is far right.
I have since gone with the SP pads.

  11. Hi I am looking into taking a course for introduction to practical shooting and one of the requirements is a belt that goes through at least 3 belt loops see below.

Can I use a Double Alpha belt the I have that has the inner belt and outer belt as long as the inner belt goes through the loops or do I have to buy a new belt that loops through?

    EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

BELT – a belt rigid enough to hold magazine pouches and a holster. Belt must go through a minimum of 3 belt loops. A typical dress belt is not recommended.

    Thanks

  12. For uspsa the max round count for a stage is 32 rounds. Being able to carry 50 rounds is good but 60 is better. If you are asking about a shadow. Most likely you are competing in production or carry optic. That limits you to 10 rounds in the mag. So plan on atleast 5 mags but 6 is better.

Also +1 on the mecgar mags and springer pads. Cant beat the quality for the money with springer.

Thanks...just to be clear you can use higher capacity mags but are limited to putting in 10 rounds for production?

  13. Good info once I have time to get involved with USPSA I will buy some of these. How many magazines do you need to compete? I a assuming you would need a spare or two as well.
