  1. Yes, I really like the new ASTR1 reticle. Hopefully it will be more available at the end of the month. I'd like to pick one up this summer.

Have one on the way athlon rep tells me it will be in and more readily available by the end of the month. Trying to off my athlon Midas BTR 1-6 in mil reticle at the moment

Here's some help for you in deciding your division. Posted on another Forum...B)

In USPSA, there are 6 official recognized divisions, and each one of them has a dedicated following. Each division has a unique flavor and personality, and each USPSA division says something different about the dedicated shooters in that division. For fun, we’re going to take a look at what shooters think their USPSA division of choice says about them, and then what other shooters think it says.

    Open
What you think it says: I am on the cutting edge of handgun technology and am sporting the shooting equivalent of a Ferrari F1 car. I’m so awesome.
What other people are thinking: That open guy is too lazy to freakin’ reload and just hoses everything. Of course he’s fast, look at all that gay crap on his gun.

    Limited
What you think it says: This is where real skills are tested – the combination of technology and iron sights makes Limited the flagship division of USPSA.
What other people are thinking: Why doesn’t that guy just give in to his gamer and shoot open instead of half-assing in Limited? Maybe then he’d get a gun that didn’t break all the damn time. Or maybe not.

    Limited-10
What you think it says: We have all the technology of Limited, but choose to shoot a lower capacity to stretch our skills and focus on stage strategy.
What other people are thinking: Why doesn’t that guy just shoot Limited or Production? Seriously, L10 it the lamest division ever.

    Production
What you think it says: I choose to compete in the deepest field in USPSA, to test my skills against the top Production shooters in the world.
What other people are thinking: If that guy thinks he’s going to beat Dave and Bob with a 30 dollar Uncle Mike’s holster and those flappy nylon mag pouches he’s out of his mind. I guess he’s too cheap for Limited.

    Single Stack
What you think it says: I am honoring the classic design given to John Moses Browning by God Almighty and shooting a proper 1911 with minimal customization. Truly, I am upholding the line of great pistoleros such as Jeff Cooper.
What other people are thinking: Ugh, there goes that 1911 guy. I’m so tired of hearing about John Moses Browning from him. I bet he carries a freakin’ Glock.

    Revolver
What you think it says: I am a Jedi Knight of shooting. I navigate 30+ round courses with a mere six rounds.
What other people are thinking: Why? Just…why would you do that to yourself? Glocks are cheap! Shoot Production, man! We can save you.

And finally, here’s what dedicated IDPA shooters are thinking about all of us: “Look at those freaking gamers with their gamer-ness and their games.”

    Love this summary!!!

Well I was shooting Deadwood area. Luckily I have a friend that owns 100+ acres in Santa Paula. Recently moved to OC and once work dies down I'll be able to venture out to Norco and I hear there is some stuff in Oceanside?

If there is I'd have to make it out to Oceanside that's not too far of a drive

I'm not suggesting that I'm going to end up with the same result as a $200 DK trigger after some springs and DIY polishing.  But I'm curious what I could get done without spending $200...

I can tell you personally the improvement of a $40 kit and DIY polishing it's VERY noticeable over stock especially when you have a stock gun and worked gun side by side holy crap!!

  5. Guys, find a Glock gunsmith... a real one, like, one with a degree in mechanical engineering who truly understands the complexity of a machine... you can't just watch a YouTube video and do what that kind of person does... take DK for example... he understands the mechanics... you can't just dremel a trigger to be that great.

In my defense I build motors and have a degree in design and engineering so I have a pretty good grasp on mechanics! And the 6 years of CNC never hurt ;)

After much debate, for 40 bucks I ordered the TTI GM kit. I'm very impressed with the difference the connector and springs made. Not necessarily sure if it's a combination of trigger spring and connector or the connector itself. I say for 40 bucks why not?! Took my 5.5lb g34 down to 4-4.5 and it's very clean!

  7. I've been shooting LdF since I've been here in Cali. Federal Indian land or not, the USPSA rules say you have to follow state laws.

Also, the guy that owns the mine on the backdrop of LdF is trying to get it shut down, anyway. He already figured out he owned the land that the pistol range was on, to the far right of the bays - and shut that down with the quickness.

The Pala range is dying a slow death, and with it will go LdF. Unless someone decides to build a new range, NorCo R&G will be the only place in Southern California, South of Ventura County, to shoot a match. Prado, DWB, Piru- all have stuff going. But for those of us in the San Diego area - we're gasping for air.

Come out to match masters in Yuma! Not too far of a trek and the guys out there are awesome.

Shoot me a text anytime next match is the 8th!

  8. I finally got my long awaited g34 (while I anxiously prepare and await an l-10 2011 build)

I have no backstrap and did a full stipple however wanted to keep the backstrap option available for the future.

Let me hear the criticism! It may not be the best but I'm extremely happy with how it came out. This is my 5th stipple job so far 70ad626686e4808b2c84db5e39631dba.jpgc7e06713344d2162e2f594d4da62e14e.jpg24d3172c0a9ef19a2583efa60fcf21f3.jpg

    g34.jpg

  10. I too went Dawson! however Springer +.25 pads.. I will be getting TTI pads, and with correct fitment since I have CNC access will be using a ball endmill to mill a slight notch for pin clearance on the magwell..

Looks good now looking forward to getting my G34 done!
