I dont own one yet but might like to get a nice production gun and the shadow 2 is high on the list.  Either the accu shadow or the regular.

Don't forget, the five boroughs of NYC (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and SI)

are the worst - if you live one mile from NYC in Westchester or Nassau, and have a

permit, it's NOT honored a mile from your home in NYC.

NY cops are not allowed to carry in NYC.     :eatdrink:

Be sure to find out the rules for NYC and not the surrounding counties.

When I moved to Ulster County (80 miles north of the Bronx), I was happy

to find our local judge firmly believed that every good guy should carry

a concealed weapon    :)   Don't know if he's still there.

NY police officers and certain peace officers are absolutely allowed to carry in NYC.  When you retire only police officers can get NYC carry permits.  Peace officers need to get a good ole boy letter if they want any hope of getting it.

  3. 8.1.1.6 in the steel challenge rule book states that during the course of fire you cannot be swept or pointed at.  The only exception is when you are bagging or un bagging your firearm and not while touching the gun.

  4. At my local club set up is totally optional but you get your match fee compd.  As far as tear down goes its pretty much expected that you will stay and help.  It goes real quick.  We have drills and all the necessary tools in the pits before break down starts.  We also have shipping containers at almost every pit so the steel etc. goes right in there.  I would say it doesn't take more than 15 minutes to tear down a stage.  The set up guys do work hard and do a lot but it seems to work out well.  Haven't really had any issues as far as set up or take down goes yet.

But 10.4.3 DQs you for a discharge while loading, reloading or unloading. So I don't think you could in good faith argue that you were still engaging targets if you loosed a shot after "if finished ULSC" when you were clearly unloading the gun.

I actually just took the CRO class last weekend and this exact thing came up.  In the end there is 2 parts to a reload.  Removing the mag and re loading a mag.  If you drop the mag and then go to engage a target that's ok.  You have stopped the unload/ reload process.

Old or new gen SV tubes?

I've only tested 15 new 140 tubes with TTI 4G & 4G2 base pads (all purchased over multiple years so definitely different batches/lots).  All of them fit the official mag gauge that I have.  Perhaps I've just been really lucky.

From the Shooter's Connection page, note that they say:

"The 4G2 fits the gauge with far more clearance than the 4G, while retaining the strength of the 4mm."

    and

"The 4mm are sold as a may need to fit product. If you do not want to fit then do not buy the 4mm for 140mm mags in LIMITED and 170mm in OPEN. Due to variable tolerances of mag tubes these may not fit the guage without fitting."

The tubes are about 2 years old.
