  1. https://www.justpark.com/creative/reaction-time-test/

I've been working and working on dry fire draw speed and the 1.00s barrier is impenetrable. 1.2s are when everything is cooking and the occasional 1.1s when I probably jumped the buzzer. The draw action seems quick, yet the times lag. Then I was sent a link to a program that guesses age based on how quick you react to a STOP sign popping up. :( Actually, my reflex time is 15-20years under chronological age, but still that's .480s hovering a finger 1/2" above the touch screen.

No wonder I can't get an aimed shot off from the holster in under a second when I'm just standing there for half the time!

53 and got anywhere between 20 year old and 43 year old depending on which key I used, which finger, and mouse or no.

  2. Reading this thread with interest as I have a CK arms thunder that has FTF issues with stock ammo. I am getting ready to load my own and debating length/powder etc.

I am using both berrys 180s and xtreme, and thinking of compromising at 1.180 even though matt at ck told me to go to 1.2. I mostly use titegroup and HP-38 for powders.

Anyone have a major load using those bullets and powders they want to share?

  3. I have a new ck arms thunder and am using sti mags. I purchased 1000 magtec .40 180g with the truncated point to break the gun in and get me brass to start loading .40.

My problem is it hangs every 3-6 rounds and won't load the bullet. It gets caught on the face of the bullet at about a 45 degree angle to the mag.

I read up here on these and purchase this gun because all I read says these are ready to run out of the box.

Any ideas what may be wrong, or what to do?

  4. Thanks for all the input. I have a buddy who reloads (locally) and I decided to copy his load so I could lean from him. I went with xtreme 125 round and Hp38 at 3.8 and 1.45 oal

    I bought Winchester primers.

This will get me started but I expect to go with larger projectiles in the future and I will look to buy powder off the INet. I picked all this up at scheels just to get started.

Of course since I posted this I purchased a ck arms 40 and will now have to start loading .40

  5. Production shooter who has been using 115g Freedom ammo.

I just purchased a 650 here and want to get some supplies on the way.

I shoot a glock 34 and need a recommendation for a competition load for my first 2K loads.

Can someone who has been down this route lay out for me what bullets, powder, load, and primer to buy just to get started on one load. I am fine learning from there, I just want to get started on one to learn the press etc.

Also where are folks buying supplies from?

  6. Just purchased my 650 from here and have only been shooting production. My intent was just to learn to reload on my 9s and next year buy a limited 40.

However my question is would it be possible to safely load and shoot 9mm major in my Glock 34?

If not stock is it possible with modifications?

  7. Thanks Andy, I thought about that, but wasnt sure how that may impact my score / classification as I am just starting out really and want to classify at least at a c level.

  8. This may be a silly question but I cant seem to find an answer. I currently shoot a 35 in production and am considering dipping my feet in the water of Limited. Is it as simple as changing out the barrel on the 34 to make it a .40?

  9. I have been on a crossfit kit for about 10 weeks now. Finally hurt myself Thursday night. Was doing back sqauts and was on a 3 rep max set and got a little forward on the last rep. When I corrected my lower back went ouch. Could not even sleep Thursday night from the pain. It's back to 50% today.

Be very careful starting Olympic weight lifting without a coach...I found its almost impossible to critique your own form when you are under load.

The good news is many crossfit boxes are now catering to new lifters and offering real training included in the monthly membership. The WOD has been both beneficial and brutal at the same time. Many days I have found myself face down on the floor drooling...

I keep going back because I see the results....after 50 I really needed to regain some strength.

  10. I started this thread but I ended up going the 2011 route myself....77b674bf03f1b4ffb0f71334a5bec1da.jpg
