I finally settled on a 627 V-Comp instead of a 929. Picked up the pistol yesterday at my FFL. Ran about 30 rounds through it. Cleaned it up and was really hoping to put about 200 rounds through it today. The weather, here, is perfect for a day at the range.
This morning, I'm doing some dry firing and the freaking firing pin popped out and fell in the floor. The pistol will no longer cycle the cylinder, so I'm thinking some parts have fallen into the mechanism and are blocking the hand. I'll pull off the side plate in a minute to confirm that.
How could this happen? This is a brand new, not even had it 24 hours, pistol. What if I had been in a defense situation? This is a $1500 pistol from the Performance Center!!!!!
I can't believe I'm actually sitting here complaining about quality control just like so many others have done in the past. I'm actually in shock!
I'm sure I can fix it, assuming I can find all the parts, but I shouldn't freaking have to!!! This is crazy!
Do you think I should just not do anything and call Smith & Wesson tomorrow?
