  1. The "button" releases are just a regular release that is drilled and tapped and has a screw in oversize button.

So without the button, or some other oversize head, it is no taller or wider than the factory release.

From what I understand there were two different lengths, a standard length and an extended length. I understand the oversized button just thought there was some sort of extended length that extends the mag release itself and then the button screws into it.

  2. I have the 51782 TAC Ultra FS HC 40 S&W and am wanting to change the sights. For whatever reason my firearm isn't listed on Armscor's website anymore, for reference due to it being similar to the 51679 its listed as having a "LPA MPS1-Type Rear Sight" which is identical to what might is wearing. Would I be able to just change it to any LPA cut type sight...it does have LPA listed on my rear sight. I know some of the other 1911s from Armscor have the "Novak" type sight. Dawson only offers a couple of different options as most of them being fixed and would like to have to luxury of adjustable sights. What have y'all done?

  3. Bamabound. Did you make it to CMP? I checked my phone a few times to see if you had texted. Mine ran like a rented mule, now me on the other hand just sorta trotted like a limping dog hahahahaha

Haha, no I had a test to study for so, you know priorities...I actually picked up one myself but not the pro match. Got tired of waiting for one as I have been looking at them for a few months.

Picked up my RIA 51782 40 S&W and got home to find this..Let it roll until it gets worse (if it gets worse) or address this with Armscor right off the bat? I had to get it online and didn't break it down in store..

  5. I see a lot of people who like Black Bullets International but, don't understand as it has been a general rule of thumb for cast bullets to use FMJ diameter +0.001. BBI lists theirs at .400 when according to general rule of thumb should use .401 for coated lead. I had to use all the way up to a .358 projectile for my Glock 34 to get a very nice group. What is your take on this?

  6. Y'all can't tell me this isn't damn sexy!

Factory ACT mags from Greg Cote, Dawson Extensions with Arredondo Springs & Inserts from Shooters Connection. Just put them together this morning, going to test the mags this afternoon along with some load development.

    How did they run?

  7. What is the general consensus on these? For the people that own an STI how does it stack up? Coming from a Glock the 1911/2011 platform is new to me. Was wondering if I could save $1000 on the STI by going with this. Looking for someone's honest opinion on how accurate it is. From my understand the ejector is the weak point. I see that Hayes custom guns offers a "reliability package". I just want something that will shoot and not leave me disappointed.

I just picked a Ultra Match up. Ran it like a rented mule for 100 or so rounds, American Eagle 180gr, and it felt good and was reliable. I know 100 reds isn't that much but it was a hard 100.

I'm in Oxford and will be at the CMP USPSA matches feel free to shoot mine if your there.

Excellent, I pretty much only shoot at CMP so I'd love to try. I have tried Keegans briefly after a match so I didn't get much of a feel for it. I was really looking at the Ultra Match like what you have.

It's almost like I am forcing my finger to be in the trigger guard. All in all this isn't working for me anymore as I could never shoot Glocks as well as my friends M&P and for a long time contributed some of my groups to me. It looks like finger is coming down at a 45 degree angle not really allowing myself to pull the trigger straight back.

  9. I am looking for a new gun coming from a Glock 34 and have owned several different Glocks (20,21,19,30s,43,41) and was curious as to how these two specific pistols compare in grip size. My 34 felt like it could have fit better in my hands. I used the back strap with the large beaver tail and still felt like i could have a better fitting gun. The 20/21 frame fit really good in my hands and my finger never from it. I have been looking at the TS and the Elite Limited for a limited gun. I've seen the comments of the Tanfo being bigger in the grip. Of course most of these you have to order online so I would like to get it right the first time. Any input is helpful

  10. I have an extra tool head too I just went ahead an ordered the whole quick change kit as well as the caliber conversion kit. Going from 9mm to 40 S&W just like you. For like $20 more you get another tool head and a tool head stand vs just buying a powder measure and powder die. I just ordered everything from the Enos store because the shipping is cheaper than what I have been quoted on.
