I wanted the biggest possible window out there which is why I went this way over a DPP or even 507c. I love the 510s in general, I think we have 6 of em at this point!

Overall the VR has been great. Working on a new upgrade now emoji41.png

nice! i think i am gonna go that route eventually. gonna give the dpp a go and see how she does since i have an extra. how you liking the VR80? i have one on order through RSR when they release them. hopefully the comp and magwell come back in stock soon!

  3. i am running a sti steelmaster. i picked it up for DIRT cheap out here from a local guy since we have a lot of matches with no PF. it runs ANYTHING except aluminum cases. I have had great results with 5.1 CFE at 1.13 OAL. WWB works about 99% of the time, but i use PRECISION AMMUNITION 115s and have had 100% great results, including high open overall at THE BAD BEAT SHOOTOUT a couple weeks ago. #minorthreat

but yeah, its my favorite gun. i run an RTS2 with a PT grip and SV trigger. besides that, stock.

OH and i use only MBX mags

  4. i love my 510c on my pcc. when they first started getting cool i got one on my open gun using the tevo single sided mount and i loved it. dot was easy to find, and i didn't mind the size. i would only use the dot tho. unlessss i shot weak hand, then i would use "eotech" reticle.

after about a month on my 38SC open gun, it completely died. holosun did warranty it out quick and painless tho

  5. what does everyone use on the dots for their open shotguns.

i am currently have a DPP triangle dot on my tooth and nail match 1919, this one seemed like a solid bet as far as what will work best, but how will they hold up in match ( dump barrels, slugs, etc)

it came with the jpoint circle dot, but i hated it.

was thinking of running a holosun 510c.

any other popular options or reason to not use one  mentioned above?

  6. whats up peeps, so i am getting ready to actually put my open shotgun to use. i have a tooth and nail spiffied up shotgun. has the mid barrel comp on it, which when i took off, was choked up a lil on the barrel so some of the port holes were being blocked. i cleaned em out, cleaned the comp and wiped it down and reassembled. i asked someone about the holes and they said to be careful changing which ones were covered because they are "tuned " that way. so wanted to know if anyone had any knowledge of that.

also wanted to know what luck people are having running different ammo through it. Slugs, buck and bird. i currently have the polymer lower, i think the basic trigger, and she is wearing a delta point pro triangle dot. i also have a 28 rd, 18rd and 2 10 rd mags. all from T&N and all steel.

also does anyone know anything about the triggers, what can be modded or switched on them. i know they have the jp roller available from the T&N website, but looking for what else might be out there.

i have tried to email them and had no luck when i was looking for a video of the assemble and disassembly of the competition model.

thanks for any help in advance, or if this has been run through before i am sorry. i could not find anything in the search.

  7. Sorry chuck. Didn’t mean to thread jack ya. I paid 1200 for mine with an rts 2 on it. Had about 2k through it.

My friend bought one with 200 rnds through it, and  from same guy I bought mine from. His had an rts2 and had it gone through and tuned up by Eddie Garcia. He paid 1800. Both with one mag.

We did get them from a local club buddy and got good deals. Just to do some real contribution for your post haha

I just finished 3 days at Tactical Performance Center in Utah.  Wow.  What a class.  I was drinking from the firehose.  I was most impressed how Ron Avery was able to dissect every aspect and every movement into small, understandable, pieces.  I found I was doing things wrong that I had no idea there was even a right and wrong way to do.  I've been shooting for 40 years (USPSA for only the last two). Changed my grip.  Changed my stance.  Changed the way I moved.   I broke one gun and every body part aches -- it was great. Highly recommended for those who have never shot a match to GM.

I got the notification that it shipped this morning. So I should get it on Friday. I can’t wait. I got tons of ammo loaded. Probably gonna shoot a whole case on Saturday.

As for powders, out of all my loads for 9mm tite group is definitely the softest shooting. I’ll have to try it in 40 and see if I can get something soft. I guess the 180g at 950 is about the lowest I am go and still make major. I’ll hace to chrono my unique load this weekend too. It’s snappy. And what I found with unique and 9mm, loading at the lowest charge in the book, which is 3.9-4g with a 147g bullet, i was close to major pf. I chronod it at 1050 fps. And that’s the starting point. And the recoil was high for a 147g with a low charge. So I dropped it slowly to 3.5, and it’s pretty soft now. Haven’t chrono yet but I’m assuming roughly 900fps. So assuming the same pattern, and 5.8 with a 180 being a middle of the road load in my book for 40. I’m probably way over major. But will see, I’ll chrono it this weekend.

I thmk the question now is how long will it be before I’m buying a 2011 in 9 major and benching my g34. And I hope I’m able to go back and forth between my Glock and the 2011 without issue.

    ??

Once you pick up that 2011, and get it dialed in, you’ll forget than you even own a Glock unless is you daily carry or nightstand gun. But for comps... leave them were they belong.... AT HOME! ??? I’m kidding please no one get mad!

truth! kinda haha. i alwasys said i would still shoot my glock because it is what got me into uspsa and 3 gun, but i never did . and a year later i sold it because i figured someone else could benefit from it and i needed 3 mbx mags ??

but i still carry a g19 becasue my open 2011 is too big for apendix

i get 20rds in my 40 mags though i am pretty sure. for my camerons limited gun. they are also bevin tuned mags

  11. Agreed. I started with a 226, went to a 34. Then to an eagle and custom open gun. I find it hard to go back to anything. It’s all about the 2011 platform. I have issues with mags sometimes. But from lots of drops, and being a cheap ass when it comes to the small s#!t like springs and whatnot for them. The 100$ ish it cost to get everything going tho is nothing compared to being at a major and trying to figure which mags will work, and dealing with the malfunctions associated with that.

I’ve run Schumann 4 port hybicomp barrels for a long time, yes they do need a tiny bit more powder to make major

yes your scope set up is critical, to far forward and your scope will get blasted, and yes they are loud and the gun shoots flat

and having said all that, my next gun will have a KKM

the problem with running a hybicomp barrel is you’re stuck with a single source manufacturer and should you ever have to replace the barrel, you’d better hope that they haven’t changed their specs on them, svi used to sell a 4 port hybicomp barrel, now it looks like the rib goes almost all the way back to the top locking lugs

my current gun has a Schumann blank 4 port length ribbed barrel that replaced a 4 port hybicomp barrel, I’d like to get another one to convert the gun to 9 but they’re out of stock and may never be available again

Very valid points! Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it!

Schuemann website stock wasn't up to date a couple months ago when I was looking. I emailed them about something that was out of stock online and they replied saying they had it available and another item that was in stock online, I got no response assuming they didn't have one. this was a few months ago.

I bought my SVI barrel from speedshooters - in stock no wait

Ya I emailed schuemann and have had no luck on response yet. I was thinking the svi route. Thanks

  14. Whats up my doods and doodettes!?

I tried the search, found nothing on it so if anyone knows if thereis a thread and can find it please link. But i am getting a new gun built and am looking at schuemann barrels. I want an AET, supercomp, and thats really all that matters. The non hybrids are out of stock, so its between the 4 port hybrid, and the non drilled hybrid, which we would then drill the holes. my question is, is 4 ports too much? i assume you can just gas er up a lil bit more to make pf, but wanted to see what all you OGs thought first, or if anyone has any experience with the 4 port ones. here is a link to the 4 port. http://www.schuemann.com/OnlineCatalog/SchuemannCatalog/tabid/91/c/barrels/p/gp35ctm2/Default.aspx

thanks in advance for any info provided. appreciate you all!
