  1. 100 rds in 6 to 7 minutes, and you could go faster? H-mmm, your 650 must have a much shorter throw than mine. You are pulling the handle every 4.2 seconds to make 100 in seven minutes and every 3.6 seconds to obtain 100 rds in 6 minutes. The best I can do is load a round every 15 or 16 seconds, which results in 100 rds taking me 25 minutes to complete. If I try to go any faster it results in banging the loader around, spilling powder on stage 4 and having primer feed problems. Your claim (along with quite a few others) seems, well; a bit optimistic to me. Just my 2 cents worth though........................piniongear SPEED...., the 650 is the daddy to the B while the 1050 is the granddaddy but has it's drawbacks as well. I can punch out 100 rounds in 6-7 minutes and that's taking my time at a steady medium speed. Crank the handle, place bullet, crank handle...repeat... 600 to 700 quality rounds in an hour at that speed suits me just fine even though I could go faster. I have 9 primer tubes so it's fill brass & powder hoppers, fill primer tubes with my FA primer filler, fill bullet tray to max and load away. oh' I have multiple bins to catch loaded rounds as well all within arms reach.
  2. Thanks AZ30super! I knew it was somewhere in the manual, I just could not find it.
  3. I load only for pistol calibers so far and have both the large and small pistol case feeder plates for my XL650. I want to do some loading for 22-250 and 7mm Remington Mag rifles. What c/f plate do I need? Or, do I need both large and small rifle plates? I saw this info somewhere in my paperwork but could not locate it today. Thank you.
  4. I found a fellow in Arcola TX who has a feed store and also makes leather items, mostly saddles and tack item along with western holsters and gunbelts. I showed him one of my Mitch Rosen slides and he can dupe it for the 41 and line it with pigskin. So, I guess I am set for that. A slide is much less leather than any holster and the fit is what retains the gun. My 41 is loose in a 1911 slide and loose in a slide fitted for a 4013. Thanks for the comments.
  5. 7/8 box end wrench. Circlip and circlip pliers to install the circlip in the shaft groove.
  6. If this helps at all: I welded my bench up with 3 inch sq(3/16 wall) mech. tube for legs. Frame members are 1.5 x 3 (3/16 wall) tube with a 1/4 thick plate for bench top. Legs required NO BRACING at all. Weight: HEAVY, but it does not shake. Top elevation is 36 inches from floor (I am 5ft 6) and my 650 has the strong mount under it. Get the strong mount and the bullet tray. Yes, all this could be made, but not for the few dollars the units cost. The tray is cast and has sloping sides like an inverted pyramid. Well worth every cent for these IMHO...........................................perry
  7. Does anyone know of a holster maker that has a beltslide to fit a S&W Model 41 .22cal auto? I have talked with my favorite holster guru (Mitch Rosen) who can do one, but I have to provide him the gun and the cost was substantial. I need a left-hand, I might add. I have never seen a holster for this gun. Yes, I know, it is a target pistol, but having a slide to put it in would be nice. Thanks....................................................perry
  8. Thank you for the dimensions and info Dave. Just what I needed. I am surprised to learn that the holes are different ctc and that the mount tapers. Good info! Yes, I agree with you, the 3/8 plate is overkill. It would give me enough thread to hold the 1/4-20 mount bolts without having to weld nuts etc. There are several ways to go here. I may reduce the plate to 5/16 plate. The bench top is 5/16 thick and I will weld a nut under each 1/2 inch hole for the main mount bolts. OK, I am good to go on the plate fab. Thanks again.................perry
  9. Hi to all, I am brand new to this site, so if this has been previously covered excuse me. I have an XL 650 on order with the 550B/XL 650 Strong Mount included. I will be mounting the press on my steel shop workbench and will have to be able to quickly remove/install the press between loading sessions. What I plan on doing is to mount the press on a 3/8 inch steel plate that can be attached to the bench with two 1/2-13 allen head bolts going into threaded holes in the benchtop. Finally I come to my question: Can anyone give me the dimensions of the mount footprint? What will help is to know: the overall outside width (left to right) the overall outside depth? (front to back) the center to center hole dimensions (in both directions) I am assuming these holes are 1/4 inch diameter. Thanks to all who care to comment..............perry
