Shadow I'll give that a try. I had a bunch of 115s so I started there, but the next batch I'll be getting some 124s.

Aircooled: Right now I'm loading 8.8 grns of Silhouette. I also have Autocomp, but I haven't worked up a load yet.

Hi Everyone,

I've been developing my open load with 115s in 38 supercomp and have a solid 169PF. The issue I'm having now is it seems like my recoil is too intense and I'm wondering how to go about "taming" that. Basically, I'm experiencing a lot of dot movement and I think that it will be too difficult to shoot quickly. Aside from improve my grip strength, or shoot it more, is there some tuning that I can do to help flatten this out a bit? Or is this part of shooting open?

This is a 2011 build with a Trubor, C-More 6 MOA dot. Currently runs a 15 lb mainspring, and 13 lb recoil spring.

Haha, absolutely. The chrono is your friend. I am glad to see that I'm still on the short end of that silhouette load.

Are you seeing pressure signs at all at 9 grns?

Definitely would like to see your HS-6 and Silhouette loads if you don't mind. I've got a couple pounds of HS-6 to work with, but a lot more silhouette to work with.

8.3 grns silhouette was giving me 1350 to 1400, so obviously I need to push it a bit more. I would definitely like to compare that to someone else shooting something similar.

As for powders, I have a few different pistol powders, but not a lot of any. Right now, I've got

I read that 3n38 was the powder to get so I'll be looking for some along with N105. Accurate 7 seems to still be hard to come by in my area.

I'll be checking a couple of places this weekend too, but I need something for the shoot this weekend before hand

Also, I'm running a trubor with the T2 comp in a 5 inch gun. So far I've been loading up some Silhouette up to 8.3 grns, but need some more if I'm going to make PF.

I'm new to the open game and just finished up my first 38 supercomp. I'm probably going to end up getting 124s to use, but I have a bunch of 115s sitting around and was wondering if anyone had some recommended loads to make major pf. Also, does anyone use 115s as their primary major load? For either 9mm major or 38 supercomp?

Just curious what others were running.
