  1. Match is Canceled, no registration two weeks out.

A few of the things Tiger Valley has to offer. 9 tactical bays that are 50 yards deep and 50 yards wide, with one that is 140 yards deep, a 60 foot tower, Huey, 140 yards of Hogans Alley, Shoot house, Shoot back paint ball system, Obstacle course, Larue targets, shotgun breaching doors, two story snipers hide building, 27 position 1000 yard KD range with pit service, 1500 yard UKD with reactionary steel. Tiger Valley is a State Department approved 220 acre training facility, we are not a gun range. The vast majority of Tiger Valley's time is with contractors going to the sand pit as snipers, 225 days worth last year. Most of those attending State Department training are Military Tier One operators, the feed back from these warriors helped design much of the equipment we have on site. Tiger Valley ran 36 classes on site last year, not counting State Department and 20 off site. Unlike CENTEX, we are a for profit business which must cover expenses. If CENTEX stages involve moving through 140 yards of building facades engaging targets or driving over a half mile shooting at Larue targets from the back of a moving vehicle, I could understand, but I don't think they do. CENTEX is a great facility for a public range, but you are comparing apples to oranges. If $75.00 is to much for a day of shooting under these type of condition I fully understand. T.J.
  3. This match will be a small club match run with USPSA Multi-gun rules. It will be a one day event with 8 stages and no prize table. Squads will RO the stages them selves. You are more then welcome to make up your own squads. Check in will be at 7am, match starting promptly at 8am. We will have 3 Ro's working support for stages that are complicated. Some of the stages you can expect are:Trunk monkey ( shooting from a moving vehicle with shotgun ) room clearing ( pistol/shotgun mechanical door breaching ) Aircraft assault ( pistol/rifle ) Black hawk down ( shooting from a moving U1H Huey) chaos drill ( runners, bobbers, walkers and stop and go targets ) hogans alley ( ten building facades 140 yards of movement 30 targets ) to name a few. As to the safety concerns posted. The reason we removed ourselves from the 3-gun venue was because of the booger eaters that we had showing up that were unsafe and down right dangerous. We also lacked the numbers of trained RO's to run a match and take control of bad situations promptly. enough said We plan on moving in the direction of the club type match where the squad RO's them selves, someone violates safety rules and you contact me and they are gone. This match will be run cold. No loaded weapons off the line. Anyone found with a loaded weapon will be removed from the range...... Match date is the 28th cost is $75.00
  4. Tiger Valley was interested in running a one day three gun match the weekend of October 27-28. I've looked and don't see any conflicts. If you guys know of any please let me know.
  5. I want to take time to thank LaRue Tactical and Greg Coker for the time, money and effort involved in this event. Add to this group the RO's, the unsung hero's who work their butts off to make everyone safe and happy. The RO's arrived on Friday and worked until dark every night. When everyone else was drinking beer and eating at Georges they were worried about making things right for the shooters. They ran 80 stages each day will little break to even go to the bath room. I also want to thank those who took the time to thank them for their hard work. They were over worked and I am proud of the way they handled condition and situations that would have frazzeled the best. Thanks again, T.J.
  6. I’ve spent lots of time with guys who complain that the cops and military have all the fun. That if given the chance, civilians could compete just as well in team tactics as SWAT Teams can. Well here is your chance Tiger Valley will host a Team Tactical Match June 27-28, 2009. Teams will be comprised of 4 shooters. All shooters must have both an AR type rifle and pistol with them for the match. One shooter must also have a weapon with optics for shots to 500 yards, and a shotgun must be available for breaching and target engagement. This is a tactical match, not Super SWAT. That being said, it is also not a Palm match. You should have the ability to move several hundred yards through obstacles while shooting safely. What type of obstacles? If you can climb a chain link fence, wood fence and enter an attic stair way you should have no problem. This match will stress accuracy, and thinking through problems. You will be given a situation and told to solve it as quickly as you can. Speed, the ability to think and shoot accurately will win the day. I would like to see some industry sponsorship for this event for teams competing. Team Larue, DPMS, Cavalry Arms….. Cost is $150 per shooter
  7. My idea is a 3-man team event. Some stages will require more of one type of weapons then others, but it is up to the team to solve the shooting problems with bullets or shot as they desire within the guide lines. One stage may best be run with three shotgun, but it is up to the team to make that decision. Let me see where I can put something like this and not conflict with other events. I don't want to put this together and not have anyone able to attend.
  8. Would there be any interest in a team match format? Every time an LE match of this type is posted it seems to get lots of interest. The team sniper match we just held at Tiger Valley maxed out at 40 teams and I was wondering if the concept would cross over to the 3-gunners. Again, it's just an idea in the works but I was looking for your feedback. We could use three or four man teams. Let me know what you think, I will be in Waco setting up the survival match until Monday. Thanks T.J.
  9. We only had four shooting iron. We asked several times but get several answers. Some confusion, several who were shooting troopers were raising hands for both divisions. I would have too looking at that prize table. I had a great time and hope to work with Larue on next years event to make it world class. Thanks for coming
  10. that would be great, but I would rather save them for the fall Team match. We are drumming up sponsors for that event at this time I'm still trying to round up some more shooters from Security Hill...your matches are always great fun! I'm looking forward to it. Alex La Rue is sponsoring the match and replacing Cavalry Arms. As match sponsors they are drumming up the prize table. Tiger Valley is sponsoring the Team Sniper match the third weekend of September. Call me chicken shit, but I would rather save prizes for the next match that we are sponsoring. I don't have the commercial contacts that La Rue does, so rat holing a sponsor or two won't effect them in the least. If you would rather be a sponsor in the La Rue Match I'm sure they would love it. Forgive me, but running two training ranges can be a logistical night mare, much less keeping up with e-mails..
  11. I think this is a great idea, so much that if you need a further place to hold a match I will donate my range for the event. Yes cops are a hard sell in the training department. In the 28 years I was a Police Officer, not once did we have any State mandated training in the three things that get you killed, can’t shoot, can’t drive and can’t think outside the box. We had tons of cultural diversity and racial sensitivity as well as the newest thoughts on Community Policing, which all turned out to be crap. Yes bottom line “COPS”, civilian or other wise don’t like mixing and having their type A personalities shown up. Nor do they like to listen to a million what if, how about or how come as to what happened to them by some Police officer 10 years ago. Funny thing, when I was a plumber, no one wanted to talk about there clogged up crapped when I went to a party. And people wonder why they have the Blue line. I say if this venue gets them shooting it’s a good thing. The skill they develop might save a family member our keep my tax dollars from going to litigations. Especially since I am a civilian now….
  12. The 3-Gun match being held at Tiger Valley, which originally was to be sponsored by Cavalry Arms is now being sponsored by La Rue. La Rue has offered to sponsor the 3-Gun match being held at Tiger Valley the weekend of April 26th 2008 and fill the prize table. Needless to say we are thrilled with their offer and can’t wait for the event to take place. The Match will start Saturday morning with a safety brief and stage description at 8:00am. Squading will take place when you register for the event to limit down time. Range Officers will shoot the match Friday. Round counts will stay the same, 250 rifle/pistol and 75 birdshot. The round count is for targets and may not represent what it takes to shoot the Match; you might want to bring a few more. We plan on running 8 stages on Saturday and 2 stages on Sunday with dinner and prize table to follow at lunchtime. Cost for this match is $150.00. Registration is on a first come first serve basis with a max number of participants. If interested get your money in quick because this match will fill up fast. Up-dates will follow as we have information.

  14. Due to situations beyond our control we are having to change the 3-gun match for April. We will not have sponsorship for this match. Beyond this nothing will change as to stage design or round counts. What will change is that we will run 10 stages in one day. The match will start on Saturday at 8:00am and finish by 5:00pm. 10 stages 250 rifle/pistol and 75 bird shot. The cost of this match will be $100.00. For those who have already paid deposits for this match we will refund your money, or if you want to shoot the one day match $50.00 of your deposit. I will contact those who already paid in the next day to determine what direction they want to go. Again we are sorry for any problems this may have caused you guys. We have added 220 acres where we will have a shotgun stage
  15. This match will have lots of twists and turns to it. Like stated by others, don't be afraid to shoot the match. It is the best learning experience you can have. Just watching the likes of Orr, Bennie Hill and the crew is worth the entry fee. They are more then willing to help new shooters out, so don't be afraid to ask questions. Don't worry about the physical stuff, I'm 53 and I don't put anything in a stage that I can't do myself. Lots of great things planned for this event. The first stage of the team Sniper Match we just finished was 4 hours long. I don't have a plan for a stage quite that long for this one......just some other stuff.
  16. Thanks to all who attended, we had a great time setting these stages up. The springs didn't arrive for the helicopter until after six the night before the match. We were welding them on in the dark and then trying to figure a way not to dump the whole thing over in the process of mounting them. Looks like the fordacopter turned out. We had some raised eyes, that the springs from a one ton truck wouldn't move, but I think those who shot the stage will agree that it moves plenty. Have lots in mind for future events, see you guys soon. T.J. Scores and video to follow.......
  17. Tiger Valley will be hosting a one-day 3-gun match November 17, 2007. High round counts for all weapons. 250 rifle/200 pistol and 50 bird shot 10 slugs. We will run 9-10 stages With new twists in each. Please bring a flash light for a low light stage in the shoot house. Cost is $75.00 and we supply the lunch while you shoot.
  18. Tiger Valley is hosting a Low light pistol and rifle match August 18, 2007. We feed everyone at 5pm and shooting starts at 6:00pm. We look to do 9 stages by midnight, some with light and some in the dark. make sure you have some type of weapon light as well as a flash light, people get pissed when you point your weapon light at them. We plan on a high round count for this match. 200 pistol and 200 rifle, cost is $75.00. Any semi-auto rifle in good working order will do. Lots of new twist and turns at this match.
  19. We did 9 stages in 5 hours and fed everyone dinner. A quick overview of the stages are: Stage #1 long range bullet suffle. shooter starts on the 200 yard line with 3 magazine loaded with 10 rounds each. On the command shooter moves and recovers one magazine and loads. Shooter then engages target at 200 yards and repeats same 2 more time. Max time is 2 min. Stage #2 is moving target. shooter is prone at 200 yards. Target presents itself and moves from left to right for 35 yards each pass. Shooter has two passes to fire 20 rounds at the target. Target size is 12" wide with the center 8" is a five zone and the outer 2" is a 2 point zone. Other stages are simple and can be seen in the pictures, lots of moving and shooting and shooting from props and through props. The one shotgun stage had 27 pepper poppers.pictures
  20. This is a tough time for a match. I hope to draw those who can't or don't want to shoot the big match. Out little matches don't threaten new shooters and are pretty simple and fast. Ten stages in 8 hours and your on your way home.
