  1. I have another grip question.  When I shoot my Glocks, I tend to push down and to the right (I'm left handed).  I than took my pinky and ring finger off the gun and found I could shoot straight.  This doesn't happen with my 1911's that have 2 lb trigger jobs.  Is this problem due to a heavy trigger.  I'm thinking maybe more force to pull the trigger which makes me squeeze the grip more?  I was thinking of wrapping tape around these two fingers so they're harder to bend.  I also use the hogue fingergroove slip-ons on my glocks.  Could the palm swell or fingergrooves be affecting anything?   Any recommendations?

  2. Can I lighten the fac. mainspring in a Colt Delta Elite for a lighter trigger pull?  What weight spring should I try.  I see most of the drop-in trigger jobs come with an 18 lb.

  3. Open

    1. Leatham 68.45

    2. Sakai (from Japan) 70.41

    3. Jarrett 70.62

    4. Racaza 70.76

    5. Barnhart 72.15

    Limited

    1. Leatham 76.88

    2. Jarrett 81.81

    3. Miculek 84.43

    4. Vidanes 86.02

    5. Newquist 87.10

Matt Burkett won IDPA ESP with an 85.56

David Sevigny won IDPA SSP with a 93.13

Miculek was also top Law Enforcement.  I didn't know he was even a cop?  I was told that K.C. had a 2.33 sec. run on speed Opt.  Minus the 2 sec. that's a .33 sec run!

Leatham also won the shoot-off from what I was told.  This was definetly his year.  It was a great match.  The temp. was only in the 80's with a breeze.  I came in 135 out of 171 and still won $450.00 worth of prizes at the prize table (I shot a 154.83). I highly recommend this match to all regardless of your skill level.

  4. I have a Para P-16 limited with a Dawson Ice Magwell on it. Has anyone tried to see if this set-up would fit in the box for IDPA ESP division. I cut out a sheet of paper the same dimension as the box and it looked like it would fit.

  5. I ended-up getting the 200 for work and am using a Gordon Davis for the Police Olympics.  It's just like a 200, but sits a little lower.  By the way, Swede20 was getting .60 draws out of his Raptor.  Definetly something you have to train with.  I watched him go against Michael Voight using a race holster.  Swede20 was just as fast with his Raptor and Stock G20.  Scary!

  7. I currently use a G35 for USPSA, and am thinking of spending the big money and buying a 1911 limited gun.  Being stuck in CA, I'll probably only be able to buy a California Edge if I go new.  Whose got the best prices? I've seen some package deals in Front Sight magazine.  Are these any good?  Whose got the best deals on magazine replacement tubes.  Should I go with standard length and Beven extenders or just buy an extended tube.  I'm pretty unfamiliar with these guns, so any info would be useful.

  8. Sorry to post this here, but I figured it would get viewed quicker and by a larger audience.  I want to purchase two or three of the USPSA National videos and was wondering if anyone had any favorite years and why.  I only shoot limited, but wasn't sure if I wanted  Limited or Open Videos.  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

    -Dave

  9. My friend stated that the .40 and .357 sig. firing pins are longer.  Supposedly for a harder primer hit? (He just took the Armorer class.)  I notice aftermarket firing pins come in either large frame or small frame and there's no size difference between calibers.

  10. I'm still thinking it over.  How do these matches work?  When you enter, do they give you a time frame of when your going to shoot?  Do you only shoot the 7 stages once and that's it, or do the top shooters shoot it again?  Thanks for all the info.  I'll be shooting a steel challenge practice match on Saturday (West End Gun Club).  Hopefully I've improved from over 2 months ago (186 and some change).

  11. What's the difference between the 9mm and .40 cal. firing pin (I know the .40 has a little .40 stampped on the back)?  Are these interchangeable?

  12. I know some will think I'm sucking-up, but let me tell my success story.  I just saw my USPSA score for the week and I shot 60% overall in Limited.  I've been shooting in the mid 40%.  I've only shot about 5 matches and am on my way to getting my C card (need one more classifier).  I would like to give full credit for this improvement to reading Brian's book (and GOD).  All this improvement and I'm only on page 30. I don't know if this was a fluke, but I did try to practice what I read.  I guess I'll find out next time I shoot.  Thanks Brian.

  13. Here was my goal.  I want a holster that has enough retention, that I also can draw from fairly fast.  I'm trying to get on my dept.'s shooting team and didn't want to be at a disadvantage.  I just ordered the safariland 200.  I'll give that a try.  Swede20 is lightning fast with the safariland Raptor that uses the push down hood.  I haven't decided to switch to that design of holster yet.  I'll see how the 200 works for me.

  14. What's the fastest police duty style hoster to draw from?  I know Swede20 uses the Safariland Raptor and is about to get his Master card.  Anyone else use a duty holster that's fast for them?  How do you carry your mags on a duty belt (vertical, horizontal, snapped, unsnapped)?

  15. Matt,

I was using the set screw.  I had shot about 200 rounds over a months time before I noticed it was cracked.  I tried using epoxy and superglue and neither worked.  I'll just leave it alone and won't worry about it.
