Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. While that is true and they are certainly not priced up there with SVI and Wilson they are a lot more expensive than the average production gun. I would expect considerable care in the fit and assembly for the price and it seem disappointing that a number have slipped thru the cracks. Luckily I wasn't one of them and I'm very happy with my Ltd!
  2. My limited 357 sig arrived after a VERY long wait. Well worth it and very happy with purchase . Ran flawlessly for first 350 rounds and then I tried some different reloads that caused problems . Back to originals!
  3. Ok, thanks Dan. I will bow out as I'm not technically up to speed except to say that this happened to an IPSC Master, ex Australia champion who shoots a 2011 so I'm guessing he would have noticed anything like that.
  4. Thanks guys , I get it, but unlike my Trojan I don't think the DVC has one judging by the photos? Or am I just being more ignorant?
  5. No, it's not my gun so I didn't check anything. I will follow up with him but, showing my ignorance, I don't understand your point?
  6. Got to handle a friends DVC Ltd 9mm yesterday as mine is still being delivered. First impression disappointing as the gun was turned about 60 degree and partially pulled back the slide for a safety check and the slide stop dropped to the floor! Obviously a VERY loose fit. Hopefully the rest of the parts are a better fit. From there I was generally impressed - it seemed much lighter than my Trojan, sights impressive and my layman impression of the slide fit was nice and tight ( the gun has about 300 rounds thru it ). The safety was to small for me so I will need to replace . Otherwise cant wait to get mine.
  7. Finally a few Limiteds rolling into OZ - including my 357 sig. One of my club guys also has got his 9 mm limited- yeaha!
  8. Get used to it! I've been waiting 7 months and no end in sight. I think STI have forgotten how to AUSTRALIA!!
  9. Thank you all. Good idea to adjust the sights and to use a rest. If I still shoot high left after doing that then I'll get some lessons to correct whatever I'm doing wrong. Cheers
  10. What range do most folks use to set their IPSC sights? 10, 15, 25 yards?
  11. I'm only loading one load at the moment but I take your point on adjusting the sights. Thanks
  12. Wouldn't exactly call my shooting "tight groups " LOL but they are generally high left so will try the sight adjustment. Thanks
  13. Just bgt a used STI Trojan in 38 Super for IPSC Classic division from one of my club's best shooters who is "Master Grade". The gun obviously suits him very well and has a lot of "go fast bits ". It has SVI hammer, sear, disconnector and spring, Techwell grip and well, mag release, Hi Viz front sight etc .but I am shooting left and, generally , high at 25 yards. In our target ISSF comp I am scoring around 350 out of 500 whereas the good shooters are up around 450 or higher. I tend to aim low right to compensate. I've only been shooting pistol for 5 months and this is my first pistol. My question is, should I adjust the sights so my point of aim is the target centre or should I focus on correcting my technique as it obviously worked very well set where it is for the previous owner? Cheers
  14. Well, I cant speak for everyone but the reason I went for a DVC Ltd was that for $US300 over a standard Edge here in Australia I got chrome, TiNi barrel , comp grip, trigger job, slide lightening, Dawson tool less guide rod and fibre optic front sight. And still $300 cheaper than an Apeiro. Seems like a no brainer to me. Now if I could just get STI to deliver on my February order I'd be a happy camper!!
