Take enough time to get an A hit on the first shot of an array entering a shooting position and the last shot on the array before leaving. Stay in the present instead of thinking ahead to the next target.
-
Try sticking a 6 x 6 piece of white paper on the 25 yard target and tryaiming at that. Having a more precise area to aim at may help you get started with your accuracy quest.
-
Also as ChaLee said earlier, shoot a minimun of 2 shots for As on the draw in live fire. You can cheat on control a little if you only go for one shot, not so much with two

Try each on the timer. Leave "feel" out of it. Go with what works best for you.

..... score pretty well but if I have to move fast or far I'm just SOL! .
As a Super Senior thats me. But, I would have NO interest in a Super Senior only match.

I prefer variables in both Open and Limited guns. YMMV.

If you get light strikes, polish/remove burrs from the firing pin channel. Most are really rough.

Three 1050s,
1 for 38 Supercomp
1 for 40 S&W
1 for .223

At some point in time, try the 124/125s. You may like them better.

Failure to extract or failure to eject?

I think you'll always second guess yourself if you don't get the shorty you seem to really want. Either will work.
-
I think you'll like the Brazos ejector.

Somebody close this topic. Same stuff over and over and over again.
Just read through it, and I have to agree.

There are probably hundreds, if not thousands of shooters who have sub 1 second dry fire draws but couldn't produce an aimed/called sub 1 second draw in live fire to save their life.
So true! And they don't realize the need to change.

"Measure twice, cut once."

Just out of curiosity, why are thinking of switching?

Rob Leatham has a pretty good instructional video on shooting a plate rack. He talks about sweeping through an array vs. stopping the pistol on each and every target.
Thanks for posting that Ron. Good stuff!

Another welcome from a fellow NC shooter!

Welcome!

The real reason is so that they won't look like children, when placed next to the full size targets.

9lb variable.

I like the Dillon for 9mm.

I think your original measurement of .196 is closer to correct. .191 would be way undersized for a slide stop!
