  1. Strange.

I would inspect the Main Spring Plug and the Hammer Strut and the Hammer Spring for burs.

Edit: I gave this some more thought. Seeing as how you have tried differnt Hammer Springs and the inconsistency persists, i would check that the Trigger Bar is not binding up. Possibly on the Trigger Bar Spring or a foreign object.

  2.    In CZ 75 variants, the safety and decocker parts are located in the frames rather than the slides. Though not all slides are interchangeable in all cases the decocker and safety model slides are generally very mechanically similar. There is only one full sized, polymer framed, CZ 75 variant. It is the Phantom and it is only offered as a decocker.

  3. As far as i can tell, this part is not listed in the exploded drawing for the P-07/09 manual or sold separately. It may be worth while to contact CZ USA to see if they have any in stock for replacement. I believe that the original pin is a typical metal roll pin.

Thanks, that’s kind of what I suspected.  Any idea what the fix is, different disco?

The CZC DA/SA Flat Trigger requires a Short Reach disco to function. With it installed you can adjust the Hammer Spring/Firing Pin Spring weight or get an Extended Firing Pin. If you are reloading, a softer primer may be an option. I am not aware of any method of increasing the DA Hammer travel with these discos installed.

FWIW, Armory Craft is supposedly coming out with a DA/SA trigger sometime this summer.  It’s reported to be less curved than the 85C.

I put the CZC flat DA/SA trigger w/ short reset DA disco on one of my Shadow 2s when they were first released.  I liked it so much I put the same in my second S2. However, for whatever reason I don’t think the hammer is going as far back as stock (or in my other Shadow 2), resulting in the occasional light strike (1 in about 100).  So I’m back to stock trigger and disco in that S2 until I figure out what’s up.

The Short Reach (CZC) and Reach Reduction (CGW) discos, shorten the Double Action pull length and as a side effect make the DA break earlier.

    Edit: Spelling.

In case anyone was wondering I got this done! Appreciate everyone’s input.

I ended up taking the OT screw out as well. Love working on this gun so now I’m just figuring out what to do next.

Buy more CZs........to work on. 😀

  7.    In my expediences dealing with the subject, it is not the extra parts in a CZ decocker that throw people off, it is the difference in how the Sear Cage/Ejector is retained into the Frame. Reassembling a CZ 75 decocker can present an increased challenge over a safety model, especially for those without the right mindset, tools and knowledge. Limits to manual dexterity can also figure into the equation. Though this also applies to safety models, it may apply more so to decockers in my experiences.

While i find working on CZ decockers fun, i can see why some folks choose to avoid it. I generally try not to dissuade others from working on CZ deockers, but i recognize that it is not for everyone.

  8. To add to what has already been posted, safety models can be converted to Single Action Only while this makes little sense with a decocker. Because a safety model can be converted to SAO you can increase the Hammer Spring weight without increasing the DA pull weight. Some folks prefer the feel of a Single Action pull with a higher weight Hammer Spring.

This was already touched on but the safety levers can make a nice strong hand thumb rest.

I agree that the myth of CZ 75 variant safety model Trigger superiority will never die. I have encounter the subject many times since i got into tinkering with CZs. It is nice to see this subject come up and be correctly explained in detail.

  9. It is my understanding that the only way to find out is to try it. In some cases barrels will drop in, in other cases fitting is required. It is also possible that the barrel will fit too loosely in the other slide, this could contribute to a inconsistent lock up.

  10. In CZ 75 variants, Disconectors do not influence the Single Action Reset distance. As you increase the inside thickness of the diconectros hook you reduce the SA pretravel. If it is too thick the SA will not reset and material must be removed to regain SA reset function.

They are called "Short Reset" Dsiconectors because they can be used in pistols with shorter reset distances. If these discos were used in factory B models they would not work.

  11. I would try to find the high spot with something flat like a ruler. Then ether remove the high spot on the frame or fit the grips to the frame. If you want to avoid pertinently altering things you can make a shim out of tape or something els to take up the gap.

You are referring to the height adjustable shadow 2 sight?  I have those on all of my SP01 shadows, no issues yet.  One sight came loose and needed loktite 3 years ago perfect since.

Yup, i am asking about the height adjustable Factory S2 rear sight. Thank you for the input.

  13. I am curious if anyone has broken a Shadow 2 factory adjustable rear sight. I am aware that some of the other adjustable CZ rear sight have had breakage issues. I have not heard much about the Shadow 2 rear sight. I am considering using an S2 rear sight on another CZ model.

  14. It looks like they had to push the trigger out in DA to get it to present flat in SA. In comparison, the CZC Straight DA/SA Trigger presents at an angle in SA because they wanted it to not kick so far forward in DA. The CZC Straight Trigger also makes use of the Short Reach DA disconector, this moves the at rest DA trigger position rearward so that it dose not kick out so far.

It would b interesting to see the Eemann Tech Flat DA/SA Trigger installed with a Short Reach / Reach Reduction disconector, to see how much the Trigger angle would be reduced in DA.

Thank you for the pics OP.

    CZ TS 2

I did some testing, with the current TS frame and a 2 sided CZ 75 Trigger Bar Spring, the spring blocks the magazine from seating. Now they could have changed the new TS frame, but I believe that if they wanted to add a second spring to act on the TS Trigger Bar, the spring would be positioned differently than the way it is shown in the animation. I believe that they would also remove the unused side of the Trigger Bar Spring to reduce the interior space that it takes up. This leads me to believe, that this is the product of a mistake on the animators part.

Does the spring have any impact on the trigger reset? Maybe they found it gives a better trigger with that spring in there. Or they just decided it's easier to make the different trigger bar and not have to do additional milling inside the frame.

It could potentially increase the upward Trigger Bar tension. This could change the feel of the reset. The orignal Tac Sport uses the Trigger Return Spring as a Trigger Bar Spring. So the Tac Sport TRS has two jobs.

The catch that i see using a second TRS, is that the Tac Sport Trigger Bar rides in a dedicated slot inside the frame. This makes the TS Trigger Bar more flush with the inside of the frame. This means that the bottem of the Trigger Bar is not accessible for the spring to act on it in the same way as a CZ 75. I believe that either the spring or the TS Trigger Bar would require modification for this to work. Adding the standard 75 Trigger Bar Spring may also reduce the interior space inside the frame and conflict with the magazine.
