yeah, but the 'getting kicked repeatedly in the head by a maniac' caused me some trouble keeping my focus, and blood kept dripping into my eyes.
Been hit a lot before, that was one of my strong points while fighting, I could get hit multiple times and still be able to focus on what I have to do. And luckily most of the time it wasn't my blood.

Rock climbing chalk and some dirt seem to work pretty well.

MMA is a good sport for all around fitness and movement skills. A large part of MMA is knowing body position and balance while being able to explode into a different position. Also the footwork with the stand up game is great for being explosive and moving in multiple directions.

I tend to just let my eyes/mind make that decision for me. On close targets I am almost always target focused but as distances and scenarios change my focus will shift towards the front sight. For example when shooting partials or a target with no shoots around it my focus will naturally drift towards the sight because I trained myself to get the hits and my mind knows that I will need to be accurate to hit such a target, whereas if the target is close my mind knows to focus on the target and get the unfocused sight in the center. Practicing on close easy targets and transitioning to farther/harder targets and vice versa seemed to really help me.

Mine have been hit a couple times through the years. The peroxide and baking soda method work great, other than when you do it at 2am and don't rinse the peroxide completely off. I may have bleached my chocolate labs hair. She was a brown and tan lab for a couple months.

Not completely new to the the forum, been a member for awhile and shooting for awhile now. Just wanted to start the new year with a new USPSA training program and start participating in the forum more actively.

A counter would be something kind of nice to have on my presses but not for 1000. Under 100 might be worth it if you really needed to know round count.

Barrel fitment sounds like the probable cause of the failure. I would have someone experienced check barrel fit and engagement.

Definitely load shorter. I have tried 135s in my edge but never had great luck with them.
Breaking and cleaning up edges should also help but you have to be careful not to go overboard.

The SA will be a good choice. The Kimbers are a bit overpriced. Take the extra money and either upgrade the internals or buy ammo and figure out what you eventually want to change.

Boxing is really good for your footwork, all your power really comes from your feet and works it's way up. If you get your footwork down for being then it should be easy to transition that in terms of a match and movement components of a match.
