    Are you talking about the Strike Eagle or something else? Can't seem to find the Strike Eagle on Amazon.

    I think he was referring to the sv-4, like I said call the seller prior to ordering though. That's the one item I am still having an issue getting even though Amazon showed it was in stock.

    To Firing Pin Block or not to Firing Pin Block?

    Mostly, I'm trying to gauge the necessity of a Shadow upper.

    Living in California, we can't buy any Shadows directly as none of them are on the roster. We'd either have to buy an on-roster base gun and send it to CZC to build it up to match our desired Shadow model, buy a Shadow upper and DIY, or not bother with the Shadow upper at all.

    Sounds like the difference may be very minor and it may be more expedient/cost-effective to do the other upgrades without worrying about the firing pin block.

    Elsewhere on this forum I read that there might be a 1mm difference in the rese between an upper with (B) or without (Shadow) the firing pin blockt, but is that all? Are there any other benefits to not having the firing pin block?

    For the sake of argument, let's say that CZCustom did exactly the same work on both guns (or even the same gun) with the only difference being the regular vs the Shadow upper. What would be the actual difference when shooting?

    What's the difference between 91730 accushadow and the 91735 accushadow ?

    I couldn't find any difference other than a couple hundred bucks.....

    Fitted match barrel.

    Fixed sights instead of adjustable ones.

    Not approved for USPSA Production.

    Can't say whether or not that's worth it for the extra money for you.

    Which CZ for IDPA?

    IDPA section 8.2 and on is a good place to start and then compare CZ pistols to division requirements. Looks like SP01, CZ75s and 85s look like they are all legal in SSP. The 75/85 look to be legal in ESP. The SP01 not. YMMV but don't see the need to spend $1,300 for high end CZs. Would I like one--responding yes. I am competing in USPSA with a stock SP01, fixed competiion rear sight, competition hammer, and good trigger job. And, the pistol is more than enough to shoot well in USPSA. Total investment in the pistol discounting additional mags is approximately $800, maybe less.

    If it's legal for SSP, it's also legal for ESP and CDP, so the SP-01 is okay with its dust cover >3.25" up until you get to a model with a modification that knocks it out of of SSP. For example, the SP-01 Accu-Shadow and SP-01 Shadow Target. The Accu-Shadow Lite is fine because its dust cover is short enough to qualify for ESP.

    From IDPA Rule book:
    8.1.1.2.
    8.2.2.1.7.
    8.2.3.1.7.

    In the ESP section, trigger position is mentioned explicitly as a permitted modification:

    8.2.2.2.11 Aftermarket triggers and trigger work that result in the trigger being forward or rearward from the stock trigger position.

    However, it isn't mentioned in the SSP section, so that seems to imply it's not allowed.

    (Permitted) 8.2.1.3.3 Magazine releases, slide stops, safety levers, de-cocking levers, hammers, and triggers, that are stock on one SSP legal firearm may be used on another SSP legal firearm from the same manufacturer provided they are drop in replacements. Parts in this list must come factory installed on standard production firearms. Special parts that are available installed only from a factory custom shop are not eligible in SSP.

    (Excluded) 8.2.1.4.1 Externally visible modifications other than those listed in the Permitted Modifications section.

    My interpretation, then, is that a stock 97B would be fine for SSP, ESP and CDP, but a 97B with an alteration that deviates from the stock position of the trigger (e.g.: CGW Reach Reduction Kit) is illegal for SSP and therefore doesn't qualify for the rules quoted above.

    Am I reading this wrong? I thought a modification that's not explicitly allowed is prohibited by default.

    IF you cut the dustcover you dont have to worry about any of the SSP rules. You could build the gun specifically for CDP with an after market barrel bushing, a magwell and SAO trigger with overtravel screw and whatever else you wanted.

    It would also make a good Lim-10 gun.

    As I read it, the stock configuration would legal at all levels of USPSA, but only be legal in IDPA SSP and not ESP or CDP, on account of the dust cover exceeding 3.25". Is that correct?

    If I get CGW E Package, it would drop out of legality for IDPA SSP due to an externally visible modification (i.e.: Reach Reduction Kit changes trigger position). Would it also drop it out of USPSA Production? The rules don't specifically allow a trigger position change, so it's therefore prohibited, isn't it? (Not that I'd want to shoot 45 in Production...)

    Sounds like the only reasonable divisions for the 97B would be Open, Limited-10 and CDP (if the dust cover is cut down)?

    I haven't been able to discern anything from the 97B's description to find out if it comes with one, but I'll get mine this weekend. As I read it, the CGW bushing is definitely an aftermarket part and falls out of favour with 21.6 and requires milling which breaches 21.2b.

    The Accu-Shadow comes with the bushing already installed as part of the stock model, so it's allowed.

    CTS LS-P vs SP-01 ACCU Shadow

    By some accounts the SP-01 ACCU Shadow was the top of the line CZ Custom offering that was Production-approved. Now we have the CTS LS-P contending for that spot.

    They share a lot of features on paper, though there are a few notable differences:

    Kriss USA told me that they do not sell parts, if I wanted to get the pin replaced I would have to ship the gun back. This is kind of disappointing.

    I guess I shouldn't be too hopeful about replacing my large backstrap, then? :devil:

    He installed the new spring set, talked me OUT of doing a full trigger job and didn't even charge me for shipping the gun.

    I'd like to hear his reasons for NOT doing a full trigger job. I'll confess an urge to fiddle with mine, but is putting in springs all I can really do? Is it worth looking at a hand tune and polish or is that already redundant with the way SDPs come from the factory?

    1. I included the Accu-Shadow Lite in IDPA ESP because the barrel bushing makes it illegal for SSP, but since it doesn't have a full-length dust cover, it ought to be legal for ESP?
    2. Although not explicitly named in the USPSA Production gun list, are the Shadow Custom & Custom 2014 allowed?
    3. Also in the USPSA Production gun list, the Accu-Shadow Lite is not explicitly named and therefore disallowed? No. (http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=215692&p=2399168)
    4. None of the Sphinx SDPs are listed yet on the USPSA Production gun list, but it's implied that they will be eventually. Do we have to wait or are they accepted already? They're listed under KRISS, USA, not Sphinx: "All variants of the Sphinx SDP compact, up to max weight of 45 oz. 9mm, 3.7" Barrel."
    5. For the poor saps in California who can no longer buy any new CZ Shadows, is it legal in any of these divisions to buy a base model CZ and have it modded up to exactly match the production CZ Shadows by CZ Custom Shop?     Is this correct? Am I missing anything?

    Back to the original topic, someone on another forum asked: "I'm assuming both the 18 and 16rd [magazines] he [from Post #3] is referring to is for the CZ75 and will stick out the bottom? I'm guessing there is no mag from CZ that will flush-fit, lock in place, and clear the ejectors in an SDP? Thus, we're stuck with the $50+ Sphinx mags?"
