Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Razorfish, I have not had much time to reload since I last posted but I am goint to try and get back at it some this weekend. I wanted to chrono the loads I made above to see where I was at.
  2. Razorfish, thanks for that approach. I was aware it took about 7 pulls of the handle to get the primers going and took that into account. That wasn't the situation I was dealing with.
  3. Thank you for the information.
  4. I am a fairly new reloader with a Dillion 650. I loaded a bunch of 9mm 125 gn bullets recently and all went well. I then change to loading 9mm 147 gn bullets. I only loaded about 20 since I wanted to chrono them before I loaded any more. After loading, I was case gauging and checking them. About 5 of them did not have primers in them and there were no primers and slid down the little chute. I did not have any of these after loading 500 of the 125 gn bullets. Could the primer tube have been jamed and not feeding the primers? I don't know if they were all in a row but the primers were feeding for the last rounds.
  5. Gentlemen and Ladies: Surly someone around here has some experience and input regarding this powder. If not, what would be your approach to loading it? It is apparently coming in through a bullet caster or commercial loader. It just seem surprising that there is not more information about this powder and load information. Maybe it's as simple as it should not be used. I will be loading on a Dillion 650. Any information is appreciated. I did a number of internet searches and could not find much.
  6. Hello All: I have been a reader of this forum for what seems like a long time now. I shoot USPSA and IDPA. I am new to reloading and just had the opportunity to buy a used Dillion press. I got the first part of my order from Brian yesterday (a scale). With the current powder challenge, the timing is not great. In any event, the gentlemen that I am buying the press from is getting some powder and is willing to sell me some. It is Maxam CSB 6 powder. As I looked for information on this on the internet, it looks like it is shotgun powder made in Spain. I did see a number of references to the powder being used for handgun cartridges but was not able to locate load data. Does anyone have any experience with this and specifically in 9mm, 40 S & W and 45acp? This is obviously not the ideal starting point for a newbie but I do have access to some reloaders locally. From what I have read, I would prefer Win 231 or HP-38 which I will pursue but have not been able to locate any. Any help is appreciated.
