I'm about to have yet another back surgery so will be out of commission for a while, but most definitely will come out after I get healed up! Love shooting steel! LOL Istone, that's ok I can take the jokes now, we'll be back on too....when Jerry Jones is gone! :-). Thanks SV-COP good to know lol, actually just found out about Sig's LE/Mil discount program, HUGE savings! Thanks Beltjones, will definitely be out at the matches soon I hope! Great way to get more realistic training and meet some great guys and gals. Always interested to see what guns folks are using too and always learn something.

Thank you sir! LOL, yep that's the one. Have had several of the big name/high dollar guns but the RIA's and even MetroArms American Classics have been the best kept secrets out there. Or people have been too afraid to admit liking them? :-). I WILL have a Colt in my collection but been very disappointed in the out of the box quality of the newer ones I've looked at. Maybe I just haven't seen the right model yet or should look at some older models?? Until then I will shamelessly and confidently carry a RIA :-) Actually, there's a pretty interesting history of the 1911 in the Philippines.

LOL, thanks Top! My youngest son is in Boot Camp at Ft Sill. We have a long family line of Air Force all the way back to the Army Air Corp days. I actually wore a "U.S. Army" T-Shirt the other day. It was a little itchy, but I didn't burst into flames like I thought :-) JK! Worked with the Army quite a bit out of Ft Bragg and in Bosnia, LOTS of respect for what y'all do and grateful for your service!

Hello! Jim here from just east of Dallas. I'm retired USAF Special Operations Command and finally made my way back home to Texas after 22 years away and working as a DoD Contractor here. Sure enjoying exercising my 2nd Ammendment Rights without having to worry about moving to one of the not-so-gun friendly states (putting it nicely lol) Just joined up on y'all's great site officially but have ended up browsing here several times while googling various topics and bingo, got my answers right here. I appreciate the depth of knowledge I've encountered and seems like a bunch of helpful, friendly folks here and a non-hostile environment, very much UNLIKE some of the forums I belong (or used to belong to lol). I'll be happy to contribute any way I can and do solemly swear not to berate somebody just because every gun they own is not a COLT :-) Geez, on so many forums if you dare even consider a non-Colt 1911, let the bash-fest commence! LOL Sometimes, if I'm bored, I'll mention how much I love the 1911's made in the Philipines and sit back and enjoy the fireworks :-). Anyway, thanks again for letting me in, hopefully I don't get booted out for being a huge Dallas Cowboys fan...yes Jerry Jones is a friggin' idiot and an embarrassment for all Texans! But....we are still and always be America's Team baby! :-)
