Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thank you all for providing me with great suggestions. I have a good understanding as to where to begin my testing. I truly appreciate the help.
  2. Looking for a starting point in working up a new 9mm round, new for me that is. I have been loading a 124gr plated RN bullet, 3.8gr. of Titegroup with mixed brass at 1.150 OAL. I have decided I want to try an Xtreme 147gr. RN bullet. I have Titegroup and CFE Pistol powder available to work with. I have looked at several resources for load data and none really give me a good range to work to develop a load for me. I enjoy IDPA and use a Glock 34. I understand the process of running thru several loads to develop the best load for me and my pistol, I just can't find a good starting point. Powder?..Powder amount?...OAL?.... Relatively new to reloading with enough experience to second guess myself and sort of developing a "writers block". Appreciate all nudges in the right direction.
  3. Very good point. I loaded up several hundred at 3.8gr to give them a try during practice for IDPA. The Power Factor concern has been nagging me from the start. Thanks for saying it out loud.
  4. 3.8gr had an average of 1039 fps with extreme spread of 21. Power Factor 128.9 3.9gr had an average of 1,062 fps with extreme spread of 13 fps. Power Factor 131.6 Accuracy test showed my block liked the 3.8 load better.
  5. Update: Well I have developed a great relationship with Dillon. Worked up several 9mm loads to chronograph for my first time. Analyzed the data short listing two loads to test for accuracy. Loaded 50 rounds of each. Shot in groups of 10 for measuring group size average. My new go- to 9 mm round is Berry's 124gr RN, 3.8gr of Titegroup. This reloading thing brings a whole new enjoyment to shooting. Thanks for all the help.
  6. Thank you. Gives me a good starting point.
  7. I have assembled my new 550B , cleaned my brass, purchased Berry's 124gr bullets have the CCI primers and Titlegroup. As a first timer I need help with the proper combination that will work in a glock 34. One thing I know for sure is I don't know much. All the help I can get is appreciated
  8. Just starting to reload and expect to get my new 550B tomorrow. I am looking forward to experiencing another component of the shooting sport. I’m sure I will be asking Newbie questions soon. I appreciate all the help and comments.
