Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Those do look nice. I think he makes them, probably an extension modded to slip over the usual 10rnd basepads.
  2. http://www.themakogroup.com/category_s/74.htm So they do. I'll have to see if I can dig up anything on them, thanks for the pointer. ETA: Now that I've got something tangible to search for, I've found others: http://www.preciseshooter.com/blog/PistolScopeMounts.aspx
  3. Yeah, I know I'll need them, just needed to figure out if I could buy them, or if I had to fab them Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  4. Ok, this might be a weird one. Do they make "frame" mount red dot mounts that just attach to the accessory rail on the front of things like glocks and m&ps? I was curious if a beast exists to add an easily removable red dot for steel. Sean Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  5. The Shooting Internet is a pretty small place, right? Unfortunately, I won't be there. Things are busy with the baby, and I wasn't sure how busy it would be. My current project is a full volquartsen swap on my mkiii, so if I haven't gotten around to this by the time we start up practices for bullseye, I may be able to look at it then. 6. Right now, I always beat me. Some day, I'll get to the point where the other people are beating me fair and square.
  7. Looks good. Is that grip tape wrapped around the base? If I haven't gotten this setup by the time I get to a match, I may have to check out one of your mags. I'm assuming the 9mm tube is shorter than the 40 tube. Looks like the first steel match at WPRC is in June, unsure when USPSA gets rolling there or at HSC. I also need to decide if I'm going to change out the sights or something. With just the magwell, I can pull it and shoot production or IDPA (I know, eisenhow ) with different basepads. The other thought is to find a complete 40 pro slide... For right now, I need to get out to the range and shoot. Thanks for the tips, everyone, I've got some minor fabbing to do it seems.
  8. I do, and really, why have a dremel if you don't use it to slice up random things whenever the opportunity presents itself? Good call on using that, I was trying to see what I had lying around the house. I need to get the magwell in to see how thick of a pad I'll need, then it's chop chop.
  9. Awesome, sounds good. I have a magwell en route, time to find some automotive tape and some sort of pad to attach. Thanks!
  10. I was considering something like that. Basepads are all of 2 bucks or so. Do you have a problem removing the basepad? I'd think that you'd have to get the little hole lined up and get a long punch to remove it.
  11. I wonder if you could swap the followers and base pads onto a 40 tube and make it fit. ETA: nevermind, that'd put me over the 10 round limit probably. Good to know if I ever get a 40, though, thanks
  12. Hi guys, I'm a fairly new competition shooter, having shot a few IDPA matches and a single USPSA match with my M&P9, SSP in IDPA and Production in USPSA. I've been fiddling with the idea of dropping a magwell onto my gun and shooting Limited 10 (minor). I know I'll get my clock cleaned by the guys shooting fancy 1911 types, but I get the floor wiped with me shooting in production anyway, so I'm utterly unconcerned about this. I've also read about 9mm major, but I don't know if the gun could handle it and considering I haven't seen any pistol powder in ages, reloading for it probably just isn't going to happen right now. I'm curious if there exists such a thing as a slip on base pad extension. The M&P 10rnd neuter mags use a compact tube with an extended basepad. Since I live in Massachusetts, I can't use anything bigger than a 10 rounder in one of these, so the usual route of adding a basepad that adds more capacity is a nonstarter. I could sell it and buy a glock or shoot a 1911 or something, but I'd rather just use this. Does such a thing exist? I've thought about maybe sticking some sugru or something on the basepad to extend it, but I'm not sure how that'd hold up. Any ideas? Thanks! Sean
